Dai Lin recalled all the rules about the black cat.
Firstly, one must carry a pack of meat to feed the cat.
This meat was currently still on Dai Lin. So for now, that was not an issue. However, Dai Lin couldn't be sure about the state of this space—did the black cat belong to Hospital 444 or Hospital 666? Would feeding the meat to this black cat backfire?
Then, there was the rule, "The black cat does not cry, but if it does, you must escape back to the duty room immediately." Honestly, the sentence itself was very strange, with its internal contradiction. The first part says the black cat does not cry, but the latter part mentions it crying. If so, why not write, "The black cat generally does not cry"? Wouldn't that make more sense? And this was not the first time a contradictory sentence format like this appeared in the hospital's internal rules.
