Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

The moment our eyes met, I felt a connection. I felt like I was finally home, but his eyes reflected nothing but coldness and hatred. The aura surrounding him exceeded the coldness that one could only have after experiencing traumatic incidents throughout his life. I wanted to know his story, but I was just a slave in this world. How could I ever dare to approach him the crown prince of the Darkovia Empire?

"Master," Lynn and Lumi broke my thoughts. "What is it?" I asked. "Master, that person is not good." "What do you mean by that?" I questioned them. "We don't know, but he's not good. He seems evil," they said in unison. "I understand. Let's go before Inola comes back. I don't want to hear her nagging while I'm wearing this beautiful dress." I was the last one to enter the dining area, the only place where they forbade me to enter for five years. Now, to show the crown prince how benevolent they are, they decided to let me in. Talk about hypocrisy. The moment I opened the door, The scene in front of me that shook me to my core. I never knew I was the type to smile at someone else's suffering, but seeing them on the ground unable to lift their heads up, I loved it. I wanted it to last forever. I felt so much peace.

The crown prince only stopped when he registered my presence; only then did he let those monsters be. "Greetings, Your Highness, I am Laura." I did a perfect curtsy, showing him my full respect, yet he didn't utter a single word. I knew I felt like I was finally home when our eyes met. The rumors did no justice to his beauty from what angle is he cursed from what i can see he's quite blessed with everything i love: thick, cleanly styled silver hair and red eyes resembling rubies. Fair skin and a toned body could make anyone fall in love with him immediately.

So what if he's cursed? He's exactly my type. I bet he's super good in bed with his toned body and looks like a Greek god. I would pounce on him if presented with an opportunity. Dinner was soon served while the Marquis chatted with the crown prince. Celina did her best to seduce him with her small breasts. Poor her; he didn't spare her a single glance during the whole dinner. Lynn and Lumi kept their distance from him. I don't know what it is that they sense in him to consider him "evil." It's a good thing he's leaving first thing in the morning. For the first time in a while, I didn't have to please the Marquis or Celina.

I sent Lynn and Lumi to spy on the Marquis again and decided to go to the back garden. It's the only place in the whole estate that does not remind me of the Marquis. I walked around aimlessly until I decided to go to the lake. There he was, standing under the moonlight, looking so eternally beautiful. I was going to leave until he called me in his cold voice. "You, come here." I was going to run back, but what he said next was a whisper that shook the rafters of my mind. "You… you're not from here…" he questioned me. How did he know about that? No one knows except Lynn and Lumi.

At that moment, I chose to lie. "Your Highness, I don't know what you're implying, but I was born and raised here. I don't know what you mean by that," I answered. "There's no need for you to lie to me. Only the royal family knows the secret of those who have platinum hair or were born with it. So I'll ask again, who are you?" This time he commanded. "I… Your Highness, Your Highness, I have never been so glad to see Celina before. Your Highness, good evening. I didn't expect to see you in the back garden! And you, what are you doing here? I told you to stay away from His Highness, and you dare defy my orders," she shouted.

"My Lady, I didn't mean to intrude on your meeting with His Highness. I was strolling and stumbled here. I was heading back. I apologize if I overstepped my bounds," I stated. "Fine, you go back and wait for me in my room." There goes my peaceful day.

The question lingered in my mind: how did the crown prince know I'm not from here? I called Lynn back to ask her if she knows something about the Imperial family. Lynn didn't know about the Imperial family. When i asked her why she said only the high class spirits knows about the Imperial family.I waited for Celina all night, but she didn't show up. I thought the crown prince was banging her, but that wasn't the case. Inola had to bring Celina back after she embarrassed herself in front of the crown prince and was locked in the attic.

The crown prince dropped a bomb when he decided to stay another day. I knew in the back of my mind why he was doing it, and I really hoped he wouldn't call for me. But that hope was soon shattered when he told the Marquis he wanted me to spend the entire day with him. The Marquis looked at me as if I had taken over his whole territory. "You… how dare you seduce the crown prince? I told you to warm his bed, not to seduce him to listen to whatever you want. I shouldn't have left you alone last night. I'm warning you to make him dislike you, or else it won't be good for you," he warned me, anger prominent in his voice. I knew very well that he does not make empty threats.

I went to the guest room where the crown prince was staying. I greeted him with the best smile I could muster. He didn't even nod back. I spent the rest of the afternoon sitting on the couch in the crown prince's room. He didn't question me the whole afternoon, and it was driving me crazy. He should just ask me and be done with it, then leave me alone like everyone else does. He worked while I was going crazy. I felt hot and dizzy, my heart pounding in my chest crazily. I wondered if he could hear it, and I lost consciousness. The last thing I saw was someone running towards me. I guess he does have a heart underneath his cold exterior.

I woke up in a strange place, a place so divine I wondered if I was dead. "Welcome, my dear child. I was waiting for you to come here."

To be continued.
