As I stepped into the grand foyer, I was immediately greeted by the unwelcome sight of my sister, Aria, standing at the top of the stairs. Her eyes gleamed with a mixture of malice and superiority as she spoke, her voice dripping with condescension. "Sister, you're back."
I forced a bright smile onto my face, trying to mask my disdain for her. "I'm back, Aria. I missed you too." The words felt like ash in my mouth, but I knew that playing nice was the best way to deal with her. I didn't want to create unnecessary trouble for myself.
Aria's eyes flashed with annoyance, and for a moment, I felt a twisted sense of satisfaction at having gotten under her skin so easily.
But before things could escalate further, I turned my attention to our father, Lucifer. "Father, there's something I want to talk about," I said, my voice firm and resolute.
