Chapter 41 - CHAPTER FORTY-ONE: JOSH AND JUSTIN

I carefully eavesdropped as the two male snakes were engrossed in a spectacular conversation. The green male snake was the first to start the conversation,he seemed to be a very well talkative. But the white male snake took his time in listening and saying some words if necessary.

One thing I liked about the male white snake was,he had a good character of always being sensitive to his environment. Since he was a snake immortal,he was very more experienced that the green male snake.

Also, he was the type that never let his guard down.

"It's been a long day, isn't it?" The white male snake commented with a smile on his face.

His long white snake tail created tail tracks on the grass.

"Yeah,it is a long day. And a very eventful one at that" the green male snake answered.

"It's quite windy and I love it. Good opportunity for a picnic". The white male snake suggested.

"Too bad we didn't bring food or mats" the green male snake chuckled softly.

"Let's have a sit on the grass and watch Agridon from here".

The white male snake gave a soft nod before settling to sit on the grass followed by the mastermind of the idea(the green male snake).

At least, I got to know the name of the snake city below. And it seems the name of the snake city was Agridon.

What a cool name.

I crouch down a little bit at the back of the peach tree, trying to find an easy way to listen to their conversation. I sit down on the uncomfortable root of the peach tree, making sure that I make no sound in alerting the two male snakes that were a few meters away from me.

Once I was settled on the root of the peach tree, I continued eavesdropping on their conversation.

"Guess what" the green snake said while smiling.

"What?" The white male snake asked with a smirk on his face.

"General Lichi is on guard today and I also heard he would be getting married" the green male snake announced.

The white male snake only nodded. He took his attention to the snake city below, his eyes were accessing it. A satisfied look lay on his scaly face as his smirk widened.

"Whose he getting married to?" The white male snake asked, his full attention on Agridon below. The hill had a good view of the snake city.

"According to what I heard from Gregor, he seems to be getting married to Lady Rose of Peacock Royalty" the green male snake replied.

"Wow! What a good choice for marriage" the white male snake chuckled.

"Anyways, why aren't you getting married? I could pick a good bride for you" the green male snake chuckled with a mischievous intent.

The white male snake looked at the green male snake with a raised eyebrow.

"The last time I checked Justin, you also haven't gotten married" the white male snake said while folding his arms.

The green male snake who seemed to be Justin smiled broadly.

"That's very correct. Though I plan to get married very soon" Justin specified.

The white male snake only scoffed, shaking his head and focusing on Agridon. He smiled seeing the perfect view of Agridon from up the hill.

"It's quite calm here and there is a good view of Agridon. Looks like I'll be coming here often" the white male snake spoke with a tone that represented admiration.

"Yeah, you right. I love it here and it's a good place to spend a leisure time" Justin commented as well.

Justin sighed and he lay his head on the grass. He seemed to be looking up the sky while admiring it. He tapped the male white snake softly, beckoning on him to also do the same.

The white male snake got the message clearly and also lay on the grass while looking up the sky.

The two snakes in their half snake form, stayed on the ground for some minutes, gently swaying their snake tails on the grass.

"I wish I was a snake immortal just like you, Josh" Justin said with a monotone voice.

He coiled his green snake tail on the grass, sighing heavily,he tilted his head to the right and his eyes fell on the white male snake whose name was Josh.

"If you train harder and learn to be in one with your snake nature, you may be able to breakthrough into being an immortal" Josh's voice could be likened to that of a teacher. "And besides, stop coiling your tail like that. It makes you look like a frightened millipede".

Justin couldn't help but burst into an uncontrollable laughter. His eyes look like they were going to pop out as a result of the intense laughing.

Josh only smirked with an irritated look.

"Sorry for my prolonged laughter" Justin apologized while still chuckling so hard. "It's just that, you quite funny sometimes".

Josh smiled at Justin's sayings.

"Just stop laughing and also, stop coiling your tail like that".

"Okay, it's my bad. I'll stop" Justin said with a smile still on his face.

He freed his tail, swaying the green tail left and right. His smile widened, seeing how beautiful his tail was.

But for me, his tail was definitely the ugliest snake tail I had ever seen.

I was so engrossed, watching the said Justin playing with his tail that I didn't notice Josh, the white male snake, sniffing the air. Once my gaze settled on Josh sniffing the air, an uneasy feeling settled roughly in me.

Somehow, I had the feeling that Josh was actually smelling s strange scent and I feared for the worst,if the scent was actually my scent. Josh continued sniffing the air and suddenly, his gaze fell on the peach tree.

I gasped out at his sudden gaze and I took my head back in. But unfortunately,he saw my head. He squinted his eyes, maybe quite surprised at whatever could be at the back of the peach tree.

I rested my head on the rough surface of the peach tree, with my heart pounding and running a thousand miles. I knew he had caught me.

"Who's there?" I could hear Josh, the male white snake call out.

Justin threw Josh a confused glare and followed Josh's gaze to the peach tree.

"You saw something?" Justin asked Josh.

Josh nodded slowly and smirked.

"I think it's a human" Josh said his mind while getting up on his tail, followed by Justin.

"How are you sure it's a human?" Justin asked as he crawled closer to the peach tree alongside with Josh.

"You are kidding me. I'm a snake immortal and I know when I sense a human soul" Josh said with a confident voice.

The two male snakes stopped talking to each other and focused their attention on the peach tree. They seemed sure that there was a human behind the tree and they weren't wrong at all.

"I won't say it again, human. Come out right now" Josh ordered in a semi-thunderous voice.

There was no way I could still keep hiding behind the tree. Cause I knew even if I didn't come out, they will still get me. Gathering courage, I stepped out from the back of the peach tree and I stood, bold before them.

They two male snakes stared at me in disbelief. They seem not to believe that a human was standing right before them. They took a good look at me for some minutes.

I realized that Josh's eyes were already glowing white and his dense energy floated around the top of the hill. Top notch, snake immortal.

"Why would a human be here?" Justin asked absentmindedly.

"I don't know" Josh's said but his voice wasn't the same again. His voice held power.

Both he and Justin stared at me, not knowing what do to.

"What do we do with the human? Kill her?" Justin asked with a smile that could be best described as devilish.

Josh shook his head sideways.

"No" Josh replied, his glowing white eyes returning back to being normally white. "We should take her to the generals of the snake army. They may put her in the dungeon, kill her or take her to immortal Arizona".

Immediately I heard Arizona's name, I felt a glimmer of hope but I was still quite worried.

But it was as if, the universe was on my side. All that was needed was something to distract them and I got it quickly.

Suddenly,a thunder struck through the sky and a storm rolled in.
