As soon as I walked inside the room closest to the staircase, a foul stench barricaded my nostrils. I aimed at where the foul stench was at, and it was something that I did not expect to see.
A decaying corpse was laying on the corner of the room, it was a person. Its stomach was bloated, maggots were crawling out of the decaying corpse.
Although it was my first time seeing something like this, the natural feeling of disgust and fear of what caused this, were not present. It was as though I had seen things much worse....a feeling of déjà vu.
However, the smell was still enough for me to feel disgusted. I grabbed a piece of cloth inside the inventory and wrapped it around my face, though the smell could still pass through. It was enough to not inhale the stench.
I expected for the exclamation mark to appear, but throughout my exploration inside this house. It had not appeared since, maybe because there is nothing that can threaten me my life?...I am not quite sure, but I am grateful to avoid conflict.
I looked around the room, and there was nothing to salvage or even find anything of use. I walked towards the rotten corpse and I noticed a silhouette, at the entrance of the door.
I was not shy on attacking, I slowly walked up to the door and grabbed a sledge hammer from the inventory, I swung and the wall collapsed. I let go of the sledgehammer, and a man with a scrawny physique, almost of a skeleton was struck by the sledge hammer that I threw.
He was holding a knife, and was wearing a ripped out pants that exposed his jewels. I noticed dried blood stains on the knife, and immediately knew that this man was the culprit.
Since, he was knocked unconscious, due to the impact of the sledge hammer. He was no threat, I grabbed the knife and immediately he reached for my hand, as I was about to grab the knife.
I was disgusted, since I do not want anyone touching me with dirty hands, especially from a killer.
I kicked him on his stomach, hard enough for him to feel pain. He let go of my hand, and I immediately wiped off the dirt with disgust. I knew that killing a killer, means that the number of killers inside the room will still be the same.
"Not that I care"
Grabbing the knife, I plunged it into the killers head and he immediately lost his life. It was something that I opposed of doing, but giving mercy to someone like this, will only lead to innocent people being hurt.
As though I am not in the right to say, I am not the creator of this world. Still I believe in my own belief, and that leaving a killer loose with only give me kill assisf.
After the encounter, I checked the remaining rooms and nothing peaked my interest. I decided to bury the bodies, including the decaying corpse.
After half an hour, I was finished and successfully buried both of the bodies. The only thing left to consider was.....
"What am I going to do with this house?"
Since, the interior as well as the exterior are crumbling. Restoring it will be quite difficult, since I do not have any materials to restore it back to its original condition.
"Still, its a waste for this to be abandoned"
I was thinking about making this my temporary shelter, where I can train and possibly place the hole, instead of my room.
It was not a bad idea, since this was house long abandoned years ago. I doubt that there will be people that will want this house, taking to account that the location of this is inside the forest.
As I had mentioned earlier, the reason why I found this abandoned house was because I followed a trail, that I did not know will lead to this abandoned house. The trail leading to this house, was at least a kilometer.
So, it is very deep inside the forest. I was creeped out at my first visit, but after I learned how to defend myself and also bringing a knife with me. I grew accustomed to this place, and now that I had baiscally conquered it. I now have the authority to do whatever I want with it.
"It will be difficult to restore it, but...with the help of the inventory. I might be able to at least make it bearable, to make it into a proper house"
But, that will be for a another time. Since, it was already 1 oclock. It was time for me to head inside the other world.
"Yo, Loxley are you here"
I looked around the store and there were no signs of Loxley inside the store. Since, I am the only one here inside the store, I had figured that I may as well clean the store.
Grabbing a broom, I slowly cleaned the inside of the store. While I was cleaning, I heard a loud noise coming from inside one of the rooms, that Everard told me not to go inside.
I did not want to break Everards word, but I was curious on what caused the noise. I approached the door, and slowly opened the door.
A sight of Lowley on her underwear was blessed onto my eyes, I did not know that this room was where Everard sleep and take a shower. Loxley was staring at me, with a annoyed look on her face.
I did not want to further disturb her privacy, I closed the door and went back to cleaning the store. After a while, I was done cleaning the store and the sight of Loxley was stil burned on my mind.
"Who knew that she had a beautiful figure-"
"What do you mean by beautiful figure?"
Loxley was standing beside me, saying that next to my ear. It was a typical cliche inside an anime, honestly I did not think that it will become a reality for me.
"Oh.....nothing, I am sorry"
Loxley ignored me and went to the counter instead, she took out her book and began to read.
"Was my figure really that impressive?"
I did not expect her to ask me that question...
"I mean...yeah, why do you ask?"
"Nothing in particular, I thought that men only like big women"
"I mean....you are not wrong, but not all men have the same preferences"
"Oh, so you are saying that I fit your preference?"
I nodded, even though she was a girl. She did not mind having a conversation, with a topic like this.
"You are incredibly honest, huh?"
"Yeah, I do not want to lie to myself"
Even though I am not that interested in girls, there are still exceptions. I am still a guy after all, if you show a picture or sight of beautiful women, I still will get excited.
"By that definition, you find me attractive?"
"Well, not really. I just complimented your slender figure, thats it"
"Oh, is that so?"
She did not continue to hold a conversation after that, and instead focused her attention on reading the book.
After a few hours, and not a single customer went inside the store. I had always wondered if this store can be sustained, if not a single customer will buy a single product.
"Hey, I always wondered. How did your father manage to build this store?"
"With materials, why do you ask?"
Such a sarcastic answer.....
"Not that, what I meant was-"
"How my father manage to build a store, right?"
I nodded, she explained the origin of the store while reading.
"You see, my father came from a bloodline of blacksmiths. He had been making a lot of blades early from his childhood, and one day when he got older. He wanted to explore the world, and not just be a blacksmith. He began to travel, and met people along the way, Citra was one of the people he met during his journey"
Its a bit of a stretch, but, its better to listen than point that out...
"When his journey came to an end, he wanted to settle down and make a home for him and my mother. Thus, that was the origin of how he made this store of his"
"Yeah, but how did he manage to make a business?"
"Oh, he did not originally intend to make a business. This was just something he wanted to do just for fun, it was not meant for something serious"
"He did say that his store was forgotten, what did he mean by that?"
"Just like he said, the people of this village had forgotten about this store. Mainly because he was not pleasant to his customers, and critique every customer that walks past that door"
I do not know, from what I saw of him. He is not that kind of person to do that...
"You may be thinking, that my father is not the type of person to do that"
She read my thoughts?
"Well, you should stop idolizing him. He is still human, not a deity"
Wow, I thought that sons and daughters would praise their own father. Well, i guess I was wrong....wait, who am I to say that?
