Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: Mission Accomplished...?

Shota landed on the street outside, he absorbed all the impact as the restaurant crumbled behind him. He quickly rose to his feet, setting Kazuya and the hostages down gently. The civilians were shaken but alive, staring at the pile of rubble that had once been a restaurant with wide, disbelieving eyes.

Kazuya groaned, his eyes fluttering open as he regained full consciousness. He looked up at Shota, who was already scanning the area for any remaining threats.

Hiroshi's daughter came up to Shota,"Thank you kind sir, you saved us...." she whispered to him with a weak but it was filled with gratitude.

Shota nodded, his expression unreadable, but there was a sense of relief in his eyes.

From the dust and debris, Toma emerged, his clothes was bloody and his eyes were cold.

He walked over to Shota and Kazuya, glancing at the hostages who were huddled together, still trying to process what had just happened.

"It's done," Toma said simply, his voice flat. There was no emotion in it, just the finality of his words.

Shota glared at Toma for a few seconds and then ignored him, clearly frustrated by Toma's reckless actions.

People from the streets started to glance with utter shock at the bizzare scene that unfolded in front of them. Whispers from the onlookers started spread as they gossiped. Some were even taking pictures.

Suddenly a car came towards the group. Inside it was Jun.

"Hey, are you guys gonna get inside, or are you waiting for the paparazzi to ask you for an interview?"

Everyone got inside the car, including the ones who were hostages.

-----------------------

As they arrived at Hiroshi's home, a modest house tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, Shota could feel the tension between him and Toma. It hung in the air, unspoken but heavy.

Jun opened the front door letting everyone inside. Hiroshi was in preparing a meal in the kitchen, but as he heard the sound of the front door opening, he decided to immediately go check who it was.

Hiroshi went to check and was surprised, the moment his gaze landed on his daughter, his face turned into a relieved smile. He rushed forward, wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace, his voice choked with emotion.

"Maya! Oh! thank the heavens! You're safe! You're safe!" Hiroshi repeated, his voice trembling as he held his daughter close. He glanced over her shoulder at the other workers, offering them a nod of gratitude, but his focus remained on his daughter. The destruction of his restaurant seemed to be the furthest thing from his mind. All that mattered to him in that moment was that his daughter was home and safe.

Maya was in tears as she hugged her father back, she was truly relieved she was able to get out of that nightmare.

Toma watched the reunion with a neutral expression. He understood the relief in Hiroshi's eyes, but he knew what was coming next.

From the shadows of the house, Mousa stepped out as his face dark with anger. His gaze locked onto Toma, and without a word, he marched over to him with frustration that was evident in every step.

"Toma," Mousa growled, his voice low but laced with fury. "What the hell were you thinking? Bringing down the entire building?! That wasn't the plan! You guys were supposed to scout, not level the damn place!"

Toma was expressionless as he responded.

"It was the only way," he replied, his tone calm but firm. "That building was a death trap. The gang leaders were not going to let us walk out of there alive. Bringing it down was the only way to ensure we took them out and saved everyone."

"That's not for you to decide!" Mousa snapped, his voice rising in anger. "You were supposed to stick to the plan. Instead, you acted recklessly and endangered everyone. Do you have any idea what could have happened!?"

Shota and Jun stood off to the side, silently watching the exchange. Shota's face was expressionless, his thoughts unreadable, while Jun's eyes flicked back and forth between the two men, sensing the rising tension.

Toma's jaw clenched, his stubbornness was surfacing. "We were in a bad situation, Mousa. We were caught! If I hadn't acted, we could've all been killed. So there was a change of plans and it worked. Everyone is safe, aren't they!?"

Mousa took a step closer, his eyes narrowing. "That's not the point, Toma. You went off-script, and it could've resulted to your death. Why are you so reckless? Did you even care about Hiroshi's daughter? The hostages? Or even Shota and Kazuya!? Your action would've killed all of them along with yourself!

Toma was silent.

"And you—" he gestured sharply toward Shota, "—were supposed to be scouting, not engaging. What happened to following orders?"

Shota's gaze was shifting slightly to the ground. He knew better than to interrupt when Mousa was in one of his moods, he had followed Toma's lead, and now they were both facing the consequences.

Toma, however, wasn't backing down. "We did what we had to do, Mousa. Sometimes you have to adapt to the situation. You know that better than anyone."

Mousa's face hardened, and for a moment, it looked as though he might say something more, but he held back. He took a deep breath, trying to regain control of his temper. "I I don't even need to say anything, Just look at the state of Kazuya," he said,

As they glanced at poor Kazuya, his condition wasn't good, he had bruises around his body which was resulted by the shockwave from one of the gangsters.

Mousa then faced Toma, his voice low and dangerous. "Listen here little buddy, If you don't follow the plan and go rogue. I'll have to expel you from upcoming raids. Understood?"

Toma held his gaze for a long moment.

Mousa then repeated again, clearly rising tension. "Understood?"

Toma held gaze for a little longer before finally giving in. "Understood...."

Mousa turned away, his anger still simmering just beneath the surface. "We'll talk more about this later," he muttered as he walked back towards Hiroshi, who was still holding his daughter close, oblivious to the tension in the air.

As Mousa walked away, Jun approached Toma, her eyes searching his face. "You did what you thought was right," she said quietly, her tone neutral.

Toma's expressionless face changed as Jun said those words, he felt relieved that someone was on his side on the matter.

Jun then added. "But you need to be careful. Mousa is also right—going off-script can get people killed."

Toma sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I know, Jun. But sometimes, you have to make a call and I won't apologize for doing something that was clearly necessary."

Jun didn't respond, simply nodding before walking away. The tension in the air remained thick, but for now, the immediate danger had passed.

They had a moment to breathe as mission had been successful, but the cost was still to be determined.

Everyone was relieved, especially Hiroshi. His daughter was back home safe and sound and they were currently sitting on the couch. Hiroshi was also happy to see all his workers

They were all together again. Like old times, even though their restaurant was destroyed, as long as they were all together, then it was perfect.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Hiroshi was all smiles got up from the couch. "Someone is at the door! I wonder who it is at this hour."

But Mousa was on guard. "Hiroshi, I don't think it's safe."

But Hiroshi was too enthusiastic to care "Don't worry, Mousa. Everything is fine! You should relax."

But Mousa resisted. "No, Hiroshi. I'll come with you... Just in case."

Hiroshi sighed, he couldn't argue with that, so he agreed.

Hiroshi went to open the front door with Mousa behind him, as he opened it. He was surprised to see no one at the door.

Hiroshi found it weird but then saw a note on his doorstep.

"Weird..."

Hiroshi picked up the noteand beganto read it.... but after reading it his face widened with terror.

Mousa glanced at Hiroshi with concern. "What's wrong!?" Mousa then took the not from Hiroshi.

Hiroshi fell to the ground as his face was filled with fear.

As Mousa read the note, it said.....

- (You almost had us there, too bad we are tougher than steel.... You dumb shits crossed the line and it pissed us off. Tomorrow we're gonna start a rampage in the city, killing everyone left and right, destroying the beautiful city, But not all is lost though. We only won't cause trouble unless.... you bring us Hiroshi and his daughter.

Behind the paper will be the coordinates of a certain location. I want us to meet there tomorrow night. No funny business, No bullshit, Tomorrow night, we're going to find out what you guys value more, the city along with it's innocent lives or Hiroshi....)

Mousa's expression turned grim as he finished reading the note. The mission was far from over.....
