It took Lin Wu a while to snap back to reality.
In her line of sight was pitch darkness, and she fumbled to sit up.
During the struggle, Lin Wu had lost her flashlight and now it was nowhere to be found, so she had to look for the spare one.
Her backpack had also gotten soaked when she fell into the water, rendering most of the stuff inside unusable. Only the bag that Bai Jing had given her was somewhat waterproof. Lin Wu searched it and found a small flashlight, weak but sufficient to survey her surroundings.
Where she found herself was in the middle of a stone path, with possible routes on either side.
The air was humid, and the stone walls were covered in a layer of green moss that emitted a faint cold glow. It made Lin Wu speculate whether the stone path was beneath—or at least close to—the river.
