After letting themselves slide down, they found their descent much faster than the slow climb they had previously endured. The tunnel wasn't very wide, so whenever they wanted to stop, they just had to brace themselves against the walls with their hands and feet and could come to a halt quite quickly.
This eased the team's burden considerably and gave them a bit of a chance to rest, although their spirits remained taut with tension.
After about half an hour of this, Xiaoyang suddenly exclaimed from the bottom, "Boss, Miss Lin, Mr. Bo, we seem to have reached the end!"
The others immediately controlled their descent and slowed to a stop.
