Lin Anning didn't say much and picked up the broom to start working.
She was busy until almost noon before she finally finished the chores Zhao Juhua had assigned.
"Comrade Zhao, I've finished. Can we start learning now?"
Zhao Juhua wasn't cracking sunflower seeds at the moment but knitting a sweater instead.
Without even lifting her eyelids, she tossed a lunch box over.
"Don't you see what time it is? Go get me food from the cafeteria! Remember, two meat dishes and two vegetables."
Lin Anning held back her frustration, as it wouldn't do any good to throw the lunch box at someone's head on her first day of learning.
She took a deep breath and extended her hand toward Zhao Juhua.
"Fine, give me the money and the meal ticket."
Zhao Juhua nearly jumped up at these words, almost stabbing Lin Anning's face with her knitting needle.
"Are you out of your mind? I'm your mentor who is supposed to teach you, and you want money and a meal ticket to fetch food for your mentor?"
