The room was silent, with the occasional sound of footsteps coming from outside.
Lin Anning, with a flushed face, looked at Huo Shen and bit her lip.
"Just, wait a bit longer..."
Huo Shen didn't think much of it; he was just trying to scare her.
He lay down beside her and took her into his arms.
"Don't be afraid, I won't touch you!"
"By the way, the old man means to officially meet my future mother-in-law."
"Do you think that's convenient? If not, I'll have the old man go back to Beijing!"
Lin Anning couldn't help but laugh, thinking of Grandpa Huo getting furious at the news.
"Don't, my mom happens to have the same idea," she said.
"Let's just have a meal together! It could be lively and nice."
Huo Shen kissed the top of her head, "Okay, then I'll go tell the old man. Sleep well!"
He cuddled his entire world contentedly and slipped into dreamland.
Lin Anning nestled obediently in his arms and soon fell asleep as well.
