The new guy received a red card from the 3RM...,"
"We're all set for a great show...,"
"I had a feeling he wouldn't last long, he looks so thin and clueless...,"
The students began to gossip in the hallway, giving Olive disapproving looks. Soon, everyone headed to the assembly, leaving only Mark and Olive in the school hallway.
"Why did I get a red card? I haven't even interacted with this supposed heir of Belmont High," Olive said, her brows furrowed in confusion as she looked at Mark, waiting for an explanation.
"How would I know? Only you know the reason," Mark replied, his brows furrowed in confusion.
"Why wouldn't you know? Aren't you the school's so-called guidance counselor?" Olive snapped in frustration. "I think this must be a mistake. Maybe the red card was meant for someone else, not me."
"Being the guidance counselor doesn't mean I control who gets a red card from the 3RM. And there's no mistake in their decisions. You should think about who you might have upset from the 3RM because you're the first person to get a red card from them on the first day of school. Pathetic," Mark said with a smirk.
"Can you just stop talking? I'm certain I didn't offend anyone. Why do I have to get a red card?" Olive yelled in anger.
"Just wait until after the assembly. You thought you had a bad morning, but trust me, you're about to experience a real bad day once the students here are done with you," Mark said with a hint of sarcasm. "Anyway, I have to go now. See you later."
"Hey! Wait... Olive tried to stop him, but he didn't listen until he was out of sight. Wait! Is it because of the bully video, or the gays in the bathroom? She murmured to herself. It can't be, that's not a solid reason for me to end up with a red card. She suddenly yelled out. This is driving me crazy!!
RING!!
(Classes start now!)
The system announcement was followed by the loud chattering of students who filled the hallway in an instant, each heading to their respective classes.
Olive could feel their hard gazes on her as they walked past her, making her swallow hard.
"You're about to know the meaning of bad once the assembly is over," Mark's words kept replaying in Olive's head. I'm not going to miss class just because of those rich brats? She said with a heavy sigh and soon began the search for her classroom up the stairs.
After many attempts, she finally stumbled upon her classroom and entered.
Luxury and privilege permeated every corner of the classroom. The plush carpet was the same deep shade of green as the school's regal crest, and each individual desk was a work of art in polished mahogany.
The whiteboard, a state-of-the-art touchscreen, displayed a dizzying array of interactive learning tools and multimedia presentations. The air was tinged with the subtle scent of sandalwood, thanks to an expensive air purifier that silently monitored the quality of the atmosphere.
Desks, arranged in neat rows, were occupied by students of various ages, their heads bent over notebooks and textbooks while others were busy exchanging whispers and furtive glances.
The faint hum of a fluorescent light mingled with the sounds of pencils scratching against paper and the occasional cough or shuffling of feet.
"It's the new guy," said Austin, the guy from the toilet earlier. Seated beside him was the brown braided haired guy who they were both involved in gay activity. "You were really given a red card, how pathetic..."
Olive, uninterested in his words, let out a heavy sigh and began searching for an empty chair, which she soon spotted and walked up to, ready to take a seat, only to fall flat on the floor as her chair was moved away by a student.
"Don't you understand? You got a red card from the 3RM from this school. Meaning you're in for the worst. I wonder why you still have the nerve to show yourself in this class. An ordinary scholarship student want to stay in the class of the rich, Are you not scared?" a chubby guy barked with a smirk as he glared angrily at Olive, whose gaze, filled with so much disdain, remained fixed on him. "How dare you look at me like that, poop head?" the guy asked as he raised his hand, ready to hit Olive.
"Stop!" a voice shouted, prompting the chubby guy to retract his hand. Turning to look, an handsome muscular man dressed in black trousers and a white shirt stood in front of the classroom. He had short black hair, a set of green eyes, and rosy lips that fit perfectly into his well-defined face.
The students hurriedly took their seats upon sighting the man.
"You! Come forward," the man called out to Olive, who was still sitting on the floor. She soon got up and walked up to the man and greeted, "Good morning, sir."
"Good morning! You must be the new scholarship student. My name is James Wilson, I'm the English teacher as well as the class teacher of this class. Kindly introduce yourself to your classmates."
"Yes, sir!" Olive replied. "Hi everyone, I'm Arthur Williams, the new student." She introduced, her voice laced with sadness.
"Which school did you attend before, dude? I heard you had to drop out because your parents couldn't afford to send you to college. While I also heard that you dropped out because of your little brother who is still in elementary school," asked one of the students, his question prompting the other students to burst into laughter. "Which news is the correct one?"
"You all should stop," said Mr. James, his tone laced with seriousness before turning to Olive. "Go take a seat over there," he continued, pointing to an empty seat beside a guy with glasses whose attention remained fixed on the book he was reading.
"Thank you, sir!" Olive replied and hurriedly walked over to the chair and took a seat.
She knew the English teacher saw the guys in the class were about to hit her and yet he didn't punish them, but still she didn't want to raise the issue as she was already saved by his timely arrival, and besides, she hadn't even figured out why she got a red card yet.
The lecture was soon over, and the English teacher left the class, while some students resumed their chatting, and some began to study.
"Hey you! Follow us!" yelled the chubby guy, and in an instant, Olive was pulled out of her chair by two other guys and dragged away.
"Let go of me, motherfuckers!" she cursed, trying to break free from their grip until they arrived at the toilet, where she was released by being pushed to the floor, almost hitting her head against the hard tiles of the toilet floor.
"Motherfuckers?! Did this poop head just call me that? You really need some beating before you behave right?" asked the chubby guy as he bent down to Olive, ready to land a punch on her face, only to be stopped by a masculine hand.
