As the handcuffs clicked shut around Samson's wrists, the group of friends stood in shocked silence. Thomas's eyes filled with tears, and he moved forward, but Officer Johnson stopped him with a raised hand.
"I'm sorry, you can't interfere with the arrest," Officer Johnson said firmly.
Despite the warning, Thomas embraced Samson tightly as they both cried.
"I'll be okay. Just stay out of trouble," Samson reassured with a strained smile. Thomas nodded, tears streaming down his face.
"Is this real? Am I dreaming?" Henry asked, pinching himself hard on the cheeks in disbelief.
"You knew about it, didn't you?" Olive asked, her disappointment evident. "Your twin brother killed Desmond, and you kept it a secret. Why?" She glared at Thomas, her anger palpable.
"When did you become aware of this?" Lucas asked with a serious expression.
"The day after Desmond's death." Thomas admitted, looking down in shame.
