"Tell Dad? He would probably kill me before the police do." Samson cried.
"Listen to me. Dad has connections. He might be able to help you avoid prison. Just tell him the truth so he can help you. You're his son, and he wouldn't want you to tarnish the family's reputation with your actions."
Samson couldn't believe his ears about Thomas mentioning their father's connections, widening his eyes in surprise. He had never considered that before. Could their father actually assist him?
"He has ties to the police department," Thomas added. "He might be able to retrieve your wristwatch or even make the evidence disappear."
Hope sparked in Samson's eyes. "Really? Do you think he can do that?"
Thomas confirmed, "Yes, but you must be honest with him. He needs to be informed of what transpired."
Taking a deep breath, Samson acknowledged the risk but realized he had no other option. He had to disclose everything to his father.
