The night was dark and moonless, ideal for a covert operation. The group of seven assembled at the agreed meeting spot, their faces lit only by the dim glow of their phones. They had all managed to sneak out of their dorms without being caught, eager to begin their investigation.
"Let's move," Lucas whispered, scanning the area with his eyes. "Time is of the essence."
"We'll need to climb the fence to avoid detection by the security," Mark stated seriously.
Aiden chuckled lightly. "I've become quite the climber. I'm getting good at this fence climbing business," he joked, but his humor fell flat with the others, who gave him disapproving looks.
Realizing his mistake, Aiden quickly apologized. "Sorry!"
"Let's keep moving so we can make it back to school on time," Lucas reiterated, his expression serious.
