The moment Olive stepped into the school building, Lara pulled out her phone and dialed Mark, who answered and immediately put the call on speaker.
"She says she's extremely busy and doesn't want to go anywhere with me. She has schoolwork to do," Lara complained, her body tense with frustration.
"What? What about all the surprises?!" Lucas's voice came through from the other side.
"I don't know. She's being stubborn," Lara said, exhaling sharply. "I have schoolwork too, and yet I still found time to help plan her birthday surprise."
"I'll be there soon, Lara," Lucas replied, his tone decisive. "If we have to drag her out of there, we will." With that, he ended the call.
Half an hour later, Lucas arrived in a black Camry, stepping out with a black sack in hand.
"Where is she?" Lucas asked, his gaze fixed on Lara, who had been waiting for him outside the school building, refusing to go inside.
