Chapter 1 - Prologue

The elegance of the moonlight revealed a sharpness in its glow.

It was evening, and the moon and stars were shining beautifully as ever. The whisper of the breeze heaved coldness, but the coldness of the night was nothing compared to the piercing eyes of the man in front. Eldric found himself inexplicably enthralled. Under the man's gaze, he could not help but feel mesmerized.

It was a sardonic scene. Eldric, an alpha, was on the ground, astonished and captivated by the man before him who was dressed entirely in sleek black attire. He wore a black long sleeve with a crossing strap holding an unknown weapon on his back, and pants equipped with guns. The man's face was hidden behind a golden smiling mask adorned with a detailed frost pattern, leaving only his sharp eyes visible.

Time seemed halted, leaving only the exchange gazes between them, revealing different emotions. Only the rustle of leaves and the man's shoulder-length silver hair dancing in the breeze indicated that time was still passing in that moment of stillness. One was on the ground, gazing in admiration at the silver-haired man, while the other, through his eyes, showed a hint of amusement.

The scene should have been ideal for a romantic setting, with the moon and stars visible in the clear dark sky, but it was marred by the bodies lying on the ground.

It was all because of the man in front of him.

Amazement, interest, and curiosity filled Eldric's eyes. Though the other's gaze was chilling, he didn't feel threatened at all.

The silver-haired man finally moved, walking towards Eldric who remained on the ground with their eyes still locked. As their distance was considerably closed, the silver-haired man crouched down to meet the gaze of the alpha. The silver eyes that were glowing like the moon stared back at the dark-golden eyes of the alpha.

Now close, Eldric whiffed a strong and relaxing scent emanating from the person in front of him. It was sweet, the sweetest yet not overpowering enough to make him dizzy, but rather a comforting fragrance. At that moment, Eldric felt a sense of possession for the first time in his life.

One thing he was sure of: that scent was a scent of an omega.

His eyes remained locked onto those gleaming silver eyes. Still mesmerized, he noticed the full moon-like eyes curved into crescents. He didn't realize the man was poised to strike him in the neck, and the next moment, he lost consciousness.
