Silas barely had time to register the mansion's sudden halt before he slammed into one of its massive legs. The impact sent him reeling, his enhanced body absorbing most of the shock. As he regained his bearings, he realized the mansion had stopped directly above a nondescript building in the town below.
A strange, ethereal light began to emanate from the underside of the mansion. Silas watched in horror as the beam vaporized the top of the building, peeling away layers of roof and wall like they were made of paper. The acrid smell of disintegrated matter filled the air.
With the building's interior exposed, Silas could now see inside. To his surprise, it wasn't a residential or commercial space, but a spa. People lounged in steaming hot springs, their relaxation abruptly interrupted by the mansion's intrusion. Confusion and panic spread across their faces as they looked up at the looming structure above them.
