Chapter 50 - Chariot Race

Silas's eyes darted from chariot to chariot, taking in the bizarre array of creatures and riders before him. The death knight's ebony armor gleamed under the arena lights, his pale skin a stark contrast to the darkness of his mount - a skeletal horse with flames flickering in its eye sockets.

"Behold, the death knight of Shadowspire!" the announcer's voice boomed, echoing off the arena's high walls.

The acrid smell of sulfur and brimstone filled the air as a demon with crimson skin and twisted horns sneered at the crowd. Its chariot was pulled by a pair of snarling hellhounds, their eyes glowing like embers, leaving scorch marks on the ground where they stood.

A lithe figure in shimmering scales guided a chariot drawn by a massive serpent. Its rider's face was obscured by an ornate mask, giving them an air of mystery. The serpent's scales rasped against the arena floor, creating an eerie, rhythmic sound.
