Polly was dumbstruck as she trailed behind Rafael to his car. It was a reckless decision, but this was only a deal. The contract stated that he would let her leave if she wanted to, but only if she could prove her father's innocence—a task he was confident she couldn't accomplish, and she was determined to prove him wrong.
He had challenged her. His motives seemed layered, and he was adamant that her father was the traitor. Her stubbornness and her love for her father would never allow her see him in that kind of light, so she signed those papers as her method of accepting his challenge, hence, she became his contracted Luna.
Fortunately, the contract didn't require any marital obligations, meaning she had the right to use her pepper spray if he dares try anything out of line.
