Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: Medicine King Valley

"How many beasts do we have now?"

"Master! We have brought under our control 5,000 third order beasts, 1,000 fourth order beasts and 300 fifth order beasts."

"Well, let's get going."

Noah mounted the sixth order demonic wolf before heading into the forest ahead while keeping his new divine sense active.

Now he no longer needed a spell to sense things around him, with a single thought he could sense anything 5km away.

The army of beasts charged into the forest, killing any beast they came across along the way and collecting their blood pearls.

Finally, two days later, Noah found his target.

A group of young men dressed in white robes were fighting two fifth order demonic beasts when they felt the earthquake caused by the army of beasts.

Before the group of young men or the demonic beasts could try to escape, they found themselves surrounded by thousands of beasts.

Noah gave the order and the beasts charged like ravening waves at their targets who did not even last ten seconds before they were slain, leaving only the leader of the group alive.

Noah examined the body of each of them and took out three small bottles filled with a golden liquid before putting it away.

He then removed their blood pearls before focusing on the leader, placing his hands on his head and enslaving him without giving him a chance to resist.

He then took out a notebook and ink and ordered the young man in a cold voice.

"Write all the secret techniques, cultivation techniques and martial arts you know in this notebook."

The young man began to write and two hours later, he had finished.

Noah put the notebook away before cutting off the young man's head, drawing a pearl of blood several times larger than the previous ones from his chest.

"Now, let the real fun begin!"

Noah stood a mile away next to his four slaves before nodding his head.

All four gave the same order, kill!

The huge army of beasts seemed to go completely berserk as they started killing each other.

Ten hours later, only two fifth order beasts were left standing.

A giant bull drove one of its horns into the neck of a huge snake, which returned the blow by biting its head and injecting its venom into its skull.

The bull fell dead and the snake was proclaimed the victor, though it could barely lift its head, falling to the ground dying.

Noah looked at the snake with glowing eyes before teleporting over its head and beginning to implant a slave seal. He then reappeared near its wound, pouring a large amount of healing potions into the wound before slipping fifty fifth order blood pearls into it.

The snake's body began to glow and its dying aura began to become vigorous.

With what little strength it had left, the snake swallowed the fifty blood pearls, causing the glow of its body to increase in intensity.

Suddenly, the snake pulled itself together and raised its head before roaring into the sky.

A great amount of world energy poured into its body, causing it to begin to grow extremely fast, growing from its original twenty meters to fifty meters.

The snake's skin cracked and turned to dust, revealing beautiful obsidian scales.

It had officially entered the sixth order.

The snake looked intently at Noah with its crimson eyes and conveyed a clear message.

He was hungry.

"You can feast on the bodies here."

Noah allowed the snake to swallow the bodies of the fallen beasts and it started with its former rival, the huge red bull.

The snake opened its monstrous mouth before swallowing the bull whole.

Noah couldn't care less, the most important thing, the blood beads, he had already collected them all using telekinesis and left them floating in the air.

Looking at the huge amount of floating beads, he took out the magic gourd and stored them inside before looking at the demonic wolf that was salivating at the sight of so much food and allowed it to go eat next to the snake.

Even after eating non-stop, it took the two beasts five whole days to finish all the food.

The more they ate, the more their auras grew. Especially the black snake, its appetite seemed to have no end and it could keep eating non-stop.

Looking at the two beasts whose auras rose to the advanced stage of the sixth order, Noah nodded with satisfaction before casting a transformation spell on them, causing the ten meter wolf to turn into a cute little puppy while the snake turned into a small black python that curled up on its right arm.

Noah charged the demonic wolf before looking at the group of four cultivators.

"What should I do with you guys?"

Rubbing his chin for a while, he simply let them go.

"You may return to your sect. If I need you in the future I will let you know."

"Yes master!"

Noah could have killed them but since he was in a good mood and the group helped him so much, he decided to leave them alive.

Now that he had nothing more to do in this place, he returned to the mist covered area, noticing how the bottle had filled to three quarters full.

"I guess by the time it's full it'll be time to leave this place."

Noah sat down to cultivate on the spot and waited as the days passed.

During this time, he used a large amount of blood beads to reach the sixth stage of the true element.

He also consumed one of the three bottles he looted from the bodies of the young men he killed.

The liquid they contained was the glowing liquid of flame, an elixir that served to temper and purify qi.

Sensing that it was almost time, he picked up the dew-filled bottle and stored it in his magic gourd before sitting down and waiting to be expelled from the place.

Two days later, a spatial energy enveloped his body and transported him to a random location.

A month later, Noah arrived in a city and rented a house for a month.

The place he was currently in was the city below the valley of the medicine king, his next target.

He could not simply infiltrate the valley as he might be detected but in a month's time, a competition would be held among alchemists, where the best would be rewarded with the opportunity to enter the valley to study.

That would be the best opportunity to infiltrate.

A month later, Noah put on a new robe and headed to the test site.

The test was simple enough, consume a poison pill and refine it inside the body.

The first fifty people all ended up failing but this did not discourage the others.

After a while, it was Noah's turn, who grabbed a pill and swallowed it before sitting down to meditate.

Black smoke began to pour out of his mouth.

"I must slow down the rate at which my body refines the pill."

Noah purposely held back and let a minute pass before he stopped holding back.

"A minute? It took only a minute to refine the pill? Who is this genius? No, more than genius he's a monster."

The man in charge of the test gave Noah a formal bow and proclaimed.

"Congratulations on passing Uncle Xiao's test and officially becoming Xiao Fu Sheng's disciple! From now on I must address you as younger brother!"

Noah returned the bow to the man, who only now stopped to look at Noah more closely, noticing that he didn't have an alchemist's badge showing his rank.

"Um...Younger brother. May I ask what rank of alchemist you are?"

"None."

"None?"

The man looked at him with confusion on his face, not understanding what exactly he meant by that.

"I never practiced alchemy."

...

...

...

The man didn't know what to say now, he was in a rather awkward situation. The disciple his uncle had been waiting for so long for finally showed up but he had no idea about alchemy.

"Whatever, it'll be solved by Uncle Xiao on his own."

Ignoring the other complaining contestants, the middle-aged man led Noah through the entrance to the medicine valley and they began to climb up.

They discussed alchemy for a while before reaching the top of the peak of the hidden cloud, the location of the abode of their new teacher.

When they arrived in front of the main house, two beautiful mature women came out to welcome them.

The other men accompanying Noah bowed respectfully.

"Ladies, please inform Master Xiao that the person he has requested has arrived."

The two women looked at Noah and introduced themselves.

"You may call me Aunt Xiang and this is Aunt Lan."

Noah gave them a proper greeting and introduced himself with his fake name.

"I am Chu Feng."

"Miss, Master Xiao..."

"He is currently practicing alchemy and will not be leaving for the time being, you four may go."

The four men who led Noah here seemed to be disappointed but did not object and left.

The two women were about to guide Noah to his quarters when he shot off in a specific direction.

"Wait, that's the master's practice spot!"

Noah approached a hut and watched as an old man walked out the door while holding a pill.

"He has no pill veins, he's useless."

The two women caught up to Noah and bowed to the man before explaining.

"Master, this is the young man who was selected during the test."

The old man approached Noah and watched him carefully before wrinkling his nose.

"So much murderous intent built up. Haay... Young men, you don't know how to hold back.

Tell me young man, what is your goal in coming here."

"To learn."

"Haha! Simple and straightforward, I like it.

Take this, it's a copy of a special secret art, practice it but remember you can only do it for an hour a day.

Noah accepted the manual and retired with the two women to his new quarters.

For the next month, Noah devoted himself to farming, practicing the secret art that master Xiao passed on to him, and doing the occasional mission from time to time.

Today in particular, while returning from gathering herbs, he smelled a fragrant medicinal aroma coming from one of the huts.

Entering inside, he was met with the sight of the two women preparing a medicinal bath.
