Chapter 60 - Chapter 60: Holy Grail

Viltz had planned to undergo a kind of rebirth.

His plan included using the atabism potion to purify the lineage of the various dragon species until they became pure lineages of the first dragons, which were much more powerful than the current ones according to legends.

He would then use the genetic material of these dragons to merge them into a new dragon.

The next step was to create an extremely powerful demon with the resources he had on this planet and then use its heart as part of the Genesis project.

The last and most crucial part was to capture Avallac'h and enslave him and then force him to sire offspring with Ciri's mother, Pabetta, whom Viltz from the future captured and enslaved before she met Emhir and therefore could not sire Ciri.

According to the ancient legend of the elder blood, the son of the elder blood was destined to become the savior or the destroyer of the elves.

This destiny was cut short when Lara Dorren, who was to have sired offspring with Avallac'h, ran away and married a human wizard named Cregennan.

When two beings reproduce, at the same time that the union between sperm and egg occurs to form the zygote to begin forming the physical aspect of the new creature, a similar process also occurs to beget a new soul.

Primordial essences are an insignificant particle of the soul that most life forms possess and is the main source for the creation of a new soul.

The fusion of two primordial essences creates a new soul that shares traits with the souls of both parents.

The union of the new primordial essence and the zygote forms the nucleus for the new life that will be born after the gestation period.

Viltz's plan was to use the method given to him by the lady of the lake to condense a true soul within the zygote and merge with the two primordial essences while his true soul is in the midst of its condensation.

The new life nucleus containing the genetic and spiritual essence was then extracted from Pabetta's womb by Lena of the future, who entered it into a multicolored egg-shaped machine filled with a strange liquid inside.

Lena then cracked an egg that belonged to the new dragon that Viltz of the future created by merging all the pureblood dragons and dumped the liquid into the multicolored egg.

She then did the same with a small black egg.

This was the egg of the demonic phoenix demigod, Rarog.

Viltz had destroyed his soul long ago, leaving only his unformed body.

Following that, Lena threw a stone statue of a Weping angel whose soul Viltz destroyed as well.

Then, Lena threw two hearts, the first one belonged to Dagon while the second one belonged to the Pit Fiend.

Finally, Lena floated three eyes, two small violet ones and one the size of a red football.

Finally, Lena pressed a button and the top of the egg-shaped capsule closed and the process of merging the different genetic materials began as the soul of the Viltz of the future went into a deep sleep while it condensed into a true soul.

This process lasted ten whole years and when the reborn Viltz with a new body and soul awoke, he died without even being able to celebrate his achievement.

The present Viltz sighed and shook his head.

The only good thing about this situation was that his plans to be reborn, create a genetically superior body and become the chosen one prophesied by the elf Ithlinne had succeeded.

Putting the subject out of his mind, Viltz reviewed the other memories he inherited from his version of the future, as he had lived a hundred years longer than him, his memories were many and it would take him some time to digest them.

Among the memories, there were also the fragmented memories of the guy who killed him.

In those memories Viltz could recognize some worlds from different works but what made him frown was that all these worlds were worlds from literary works, be they books, novels or light novels.

Although the worlds visited by that person were all interesting worlds, there was no memory about any mrcial arts technique or anything like that.

At least until he came to the last memory.

"Kemoyin pupil technique."

Viltz's eyes suddenly brightened.

This was the cultivation technique of the protagonist of a magic novel, Leylin Farlier.

Although this cultivation technique required fusing with the blood essence of the giant snake Kemogin, and without it the technique would be impossible to practice, Viltz was not bothered in the slightest.

In the future he could create a new technique using this technique as a reference.

Although it might take him many years, he didn't mind since this technique opened the way to a new path of power, the path of soul power.

Excitedly, Viltz teleported to the laboratory where they were studying the unicorn and began to read each of the research reports.

As he read the reports one by one, Viltz thought about how he could create a device that would allow him to open portals to other universes using the unicorn's corpse.

Suddenly, Viltz thought of a wacky old man dressed in a lab coat.

"That's it! It could be a gun that opens random portals to different universes.

So I wouldn't get lost and have a method to return to this world... I could use the unicorn's horn as an antenna! And to appear in this time I could use one of the Weping Angels statues as part of that antenna.

If I could create an antenna that could connect to the gun from a definite time and space, I could solve the problem of getting lost."

Tapping on his desk, Viltz called the people in charge of the project and explained that the project would be divided into two teams, one in charge of creating the formula to be able to open portals and another would be in charge of creating the antenna.

Viltz also left everything for the moment and even called his doppler clone and the sorcerers that accompanied him to help them in this new project.

Meanwhile, the sorcerers who took a keen interest in Brokilon's water also began to mobilize, using their contacts and influence to begin to discredit Brokilon while putting all their efforts into getting their kings to order a war against the forest.

A month later, a coalition formed by the forces that had problems with the Dryads or simply wanted a piece of the pie marched against the forest.

Inside Brokilon's gap, Eirhné looked up at the clouds in the sky with concern.

"What is this urgency I am feeling?"

"My lord, we are ready to attack the forest during this night."

In a camp a few miles away from the forest, a man was looking at the map before his eyes as his subordinate briefed him.

This man was the crown prince of Kerack.

"If we get rid of the dryads, I will be able to claim that treasure my brother found."

The crown prince's eyes glittered with greed.

Similar scenes were happening in the other camps of the other forces.

Deep in the forest, in the city of the dryads, Duen Canell.

"My lady! We have been surrounded on all sides! The camps of the various forces are barricaded around the forest."

A dryad urgently informed Eirhné.

"Get ready! Today we will fight to the end!"

Eirhné's face became serious as she gave orders.

Some of the trees in the forest began to tremble before transforming into green-eyed treants that began to charge towards the forces coming towards the forest.

The dryads also took up their arrows and some of them slipped into the treants' canopies, camouflaging themselves in the leaves as they shot their arrows.

In the middle of the night, a fierce war began.

More than 30,000 soldiers from the various kingdoms fought against the mere 5,000 dryads that inhabited the forest.

Surprisingly, the dryads managed to hold their own.

With their swift arrows and the treants protecting them, the dryads were killing every soldier they encountered.

Two hours later, more than 30% of the soldiers were dead while only 1500 dryads died.

Thus, the war dragged on until dawn.

"Eirhné! Show yourself!"

Ten sorcerers stood outside a magical barrier surrounding Duen Canell and shouted at the woman holding the barrier.

"Quickly! Escape through the tunnels!"

Eirhné looked at the younger dryads who were escaping down a tunnel leading to some unknown location with tears in her eyes.

She turned to look at the sorcerers with hatred and immense rage ravaged her heart.

"Why are they attacking our forest! We did nothing to them but live in peace in our home!"

"Heh! Stop pretending! Kidnapping the children of the different kingdoms, murdering the prince of Kerack, trying to kidnap the young prince of Cintra and a great list of other crimes! Today we will destroy the dryads and stop your evil plans!"

"Bullshit! We never did that!"

Eirhné roared and ten sturdy trees transformed into treants before launching themselves at the sorcerers.

"I swear by my name that I will take revenge for today!"

Eirhné's eyes were bloodshot as she looked at the bodies of the dryads strewn on the ground.

The sorcerers also blasted their energies, drawing power from the ley lines of earth and water that surrounded the forest.

Five minutes later, the sorcerers had managed to get rid of the treants but it was too late.

Eirhné watched as the last young dryad entered the tunnel and smiling in relief, she turned to look at the sorcerers with a purple of hatred.

She might die here today but her people would at least survive.

A longbow glowing with green runes came out of one of the trees beside her.

Gripping the bow tightly, Eirhné drew the arrows from the quiver on her back and aimed at one of the sorcerers.

Now that she didn't need to maintain the magical barrier, her hands were free to fight.

The sorcerer she aimed at threw multiple yellow magic barriers that were broken one by one by Eirhné's extremely powerful arrow.

"Attack!"

Seeing their companion skewered by the arrow, the remaining nine sorcerers roared and charged at Eirhné.

Half an hour later.

Eirhné looked at the last sorcerer still alive and with a roar, vines grew out of the ground and skewered him, turning his body into Swiss cheese.

Eirhné was weak and could barely stand on her feet but she had won.

With all her strength, she used the bow in her hands as a staff to drag herself towards Borkilon's tree.

Pulling out a dagger, she was about to cut through the bark of the tree in order to drink from the sap.

Suddenly, a strong wind blew over her head,

A black dragon appeared in the sky behind her and with a flap of its wings, sent a gust of wind that sent her flying away from the tree.

The black dragon landed on the ground and Eirhné could barely lift her head out of the mud to see the man sitting on the dragon's back.

The man wore a long long robe covering his body and a skull-shaped mask covered his face.

"It...it must have been you right? It was you who caused all this wasn't it?"

Eirhné was not stupid and knew that someone had conspired against her.

...

Viltz didn't say a word, he simply stood in place as his eyes glowed with red light.

"Jé! Nice trick!"

Viltz could see how in Eirhné's heart, a large amount of energy gathered and began to behave chaotically.

Without another word, Viltz raised a hand, activating a psychic spell that lifted the helpless Eirhné.

As he lowered his hand, Eirhné's body slammed into the muddy ground.

The chaotic energy in Eirhné's chest dispersed as she had passed out and could not manipulate it to detonate.

Viltz did not approach even when his opponent was passed out and instead, a megra dagger flew out of his hand and floated into the air, lightly piercing the unconscious Eirhné's forehead.

Eirhné's body jerked violently but this did not last long and her soul shattered into pieces.

Manipulating Eirhné's body to stay by her side, Viltz used earth spells and plant control spells to dig up the roots of Brokilon's tree.

The entire tree came out of the ground and Viltz could feel that in that position there was an intersection of the ley lines of earth and water.

"Now I understand... so this is the source of this tree's power."

Viltz opened a portal directly into the castle garden and stepped inside.

Using an earth spell, he created a large hole in which he buried the tree before opening another portal to the secret laboratory, leaving Eithné's body for the researchers to analyze before returning to Brokilon Forest.

Viltz clasped his hands together as he recited a long chant.

Bending down, he touched the ground with both hands and a dense wave of black mist spread from the ground to his feet before quickly covering the entire forest.

Any corpse touched by this fog would immediately become an undead that would attack the survivors of this battle.

A few minutes later, 25,000 undead stood in front of Viltz.

Because some of the corpses were in too pitiful a state and some of the soldiers fled, in the end he was left with this sum with which he was quite satisfied.

Opening different portals leading to subway chambers, Viltz brought the undead through and didn't finish putting them all away until half an hour had passed.

Letting Ankalagon through the portal, Viltz smiled as he felt the auras of the sorcerers approaching from afar.

Closing the portal, a massive explosion erupted behind him, reducing the city of Duen Canell to mere rubble.

The residual energy here became chaotic and it would be impossible to get any clues from this place.

Several days later, news of the eradication of the dryads and the loss of 30,000 men spread through the various kingdoms.

The various kings who sent their soldiers to this battle were enraged that they had lost so many people and as a result, the heads of some of the sorcerers who had urged these kings to participate in this conflict fell off.

The worst thing was that they could not get the water from Brokilon and because of the explosion, everyone thought that the tree that produced it was destroyed.

The person responsible for all this conflict, was currently on the back of a dead griffin while looking at a cave in front of him.

Currently, Viltz was on top of a mountain known as Montsalvat.

Entering the cave, his left eye rested on a beautiful grail made of milky opal that was covered in dust.

Currently, in the position of his right eye there was nothing but an empty socket. He removed his eye to carry out the next plan.

Grasping the Grail directly, Viltz used a spell to cleanse it of the dust and reveal its glistening surface.

This was the renowned Holy Grail of legends.

How it ended up in this world was a mystery.

Pouring some of his energy into the Grail, it activated, glowing with golden light as it condensed a few drops of a green liquid.

Smiling with joy, Viltz stepped out of the cave and pulled an amphora from his magical gourd.

Unlike Geofrey Monck's amphorae, Viltz's had the pattern of an eclipse engraved on its lid.

"Djinn, I wish that..."

A few moments later, the djinn's entire body trembled as his body exploded into motes of light.

A small crack opened from the sky and a sickly looking purple eye with a long optic nerve dangling behind it began to slowly descend into Viltz's hands.

Using telekinesis, Viltz made the optic nerve travel through his eye socket and into his brain.

Drinking the Grail liquid in one gulp, Viltz felt a warm source of energy flowing through his entire body and healing him of any residual wounds caused by training and battles.

As the energy reached his head, a stabbing pain shot through his mind as the optic nerve in his right eye began to connect to his brain.

It wasn't just his right eye, his left eye was also beginning to fuse with his brain and the imperfections caused by the surgery began to disappear.

A minute later, the two optic nerves were completely fused.

The two violet eyes began to pulse with a strange frequency and an immense pain that almost made him tear them out raced through Viltz's mind but he still endured.

The purple hue of his eyes began to condense towards his pupils, revealing the original white color of the sclera.

Viltz looked up to the sky and two beautiful violet eyes with vertical slits replaced his previous sickly violet eyes.

At the same time, countless images flashed through his mind.

There was hell, the astral plane, the elemental planes, the immortal plane and a host of other worlds in this universe.

Pulling out the magic gourd, Viltz had it suck the Grail inside before teleporting back home.

He felt mentally fatigued and needed a good sleep.
