As Viltz was drinking from a tankard quietly, he suddenly noticed how a small red crystal he was wearing around his waist broke without warning.
Viltz's eyes narrowed when he saw this and he quickly grabbed a bottle with a small worm inside.
He put the worm in an earpiece-like device and placed it in his ear before sending a small electric current through it, causing it to light up.
After a few seconds of hearing only static noises, suddenly a man's frightened voice rang out.
"What should I do? What should I do? I'm finished! Oh my god, this is the end of me!"
Viltz pulled the earpiece away from his ear slightly as the man kept shouting in between wails.
"The baron is dead, the royal knights will arrive in at most three days and then they will surely kill me too if they find out I have been kidnapping children for the baron!"
The man on the other end of the receiver was breathing heavily due to the stress caused by the situation and kept pacing back and forth.
Suddenly there were sounds of hurried footsteps accompanied by a shout.
"Steward!"
A guard with a cut on his chest arrived in front of the butler with difficulty and leaned against a column while breathing heavily.
The butler rushed to hold the guard while anxiously asking him.
"What happened to that assassin? Did they capture him?"
"He...he escaped...he was like an unstoppable monster, we couldn't stop him..."
"Rubbish!" The butler slapped the guard in the face and the guard, with almost no strength left, collapsed straight to the ground.
"Shit! Shit! Shit! If it wasn't for that useless baron who wouldn't listen about what a threat that assassin was, I wouldn't have to get into these messes, I could retire quietly but that useless, arrogant fat man had to go and ruin all my security plans because he thought he was untouchable."
The butler was so furious that he kicked the baron's decapitated head.
"I don't care about anything anymore, I tried to help him, I planned a foolproof strategy to capture that witcher but this damn fat spoiled brat..."
The butler collapsed on the ground and held his head.
"I know! I have to escape! I'll take everything of value and run away!"
"Okay, I've heard enough."
A portal opened behind the butler and before he could say anything, a sword slashed his head.
Looking at the guard passed out on the floor, Viltz decided not to kill him and instead went in the direction of the screams coming from far away.
At the end of the hallway, Viltz saw a sinister looking man holding a guard by the neck.
The man turned and looked at Viltz with his beastly eyes, giving him a sinister smile before exerting force with his hand, snapping the man's neck.
Tossing the guard aside as if he were a dead rat, the cat school witcher gripped his sword tightly and squatted down, simulating a cat that was about to attack.
Viltz drew his steel saber and also took an attack stance.
The warlock smiled and activated his Igni sign, imbuing it into his sword, causing it to glow a fiery red hue.
Viltz smiled and ran his hand over his saber, causing it to glow with a similar color.
The witcher was startled and his beastly eyes narrowed to slits before he suddenly accelerated, arriving in front of Viltz at a speed unthinkable for the best of athletes from his previous world.
Sword and saber clashed together and a blazing fire ignited in the midst of these.
"You look good, I wonder if you can make me have enough fun."
Licking his lips ominously, the witcher launched a kick with his left leg that Viltz parried by countering with a kick of his own.
Taking advantage of the moment when Viltz was distracted by parrying his kick, the witcher pulled out a dagger with his empty hand and tried to stab Viltz in the head.
A blue bubble appeared above Viltz's head at just the right moment, parrying the attack.
"A sorcerer eh... This is getting funnier and funnier."
The witcher, Treyse, grinned sinisterly before stepping a few feet away from Viltz and pulling a bomb out of one of his pockets at lightning speed.
Backing up a few more steps at full speed, he threw the bomb at Viltz, who summoned a blue barrier that surrounded the bomb before kicking it like a soccer.
The sphere hit Treyse in the chest before unraveling, revealing the bomb that wouldn't stop shaking.
"Oh shit..." Treyse only had time to summon a yellowish energy shield using Queen's sign.
The bomb exploded, sending Treyse flying, crashing into a wall, hurting him in the back.
"Using a trick like a Dimeritium bomb against a normal sorcerer can be effective if you catch him off guard but I came prepared for this fight."
Pulling a bottle from his pocket, Viltz tossed it in Treyse's direction, shattering it and causing the sleeping gas to spread around.
Treyse inadvertently inhaled the gas and quickly began to succumb to its effects.
Conjuring a barrier around his head, Viltz looked in the direction of where Treyse was lying but did not approach, instead summoning one of his golems and having it approach the man.
The golem took a few steps when the ground beneath his feet began to glow violet as runes formed a circle around the golem.
The golem tried to move but all its movements were extremely slow.
A blinding glow came from beneath the golem as a large explosion occurred causing both the golem and the walls of the hallway and ceiling to disintegrate.
Treyse, who could barely open one eye with difficulty due to the effects of the gas, looked intently at Viltz before falling unconscious.
Viltz approached Treyse and opened a portal to the catacombs of Castle Stigga, where he left the witcher in the same cell where his companion had been previously.
Returning to the baron's mansion, Viltz began to explore the place.
Upon reaching the baron's room, an unbearably unpleasant smell of sweat and sex filled his nostrils.
Viltz quickly conjured up a barrier that covered his head to keep the unpleasant smell out before he began to explore the room.
After a bit of searching, he found the safe, which he opened with one of the keys he looted from the dead baron's corpse.
Opening the safe, he found a few jewels and gold and silver coins, which he stuffed into his pockets.
"I guess a baron after all is pretty poor eh?"
Running his hand through the various books on a shelf, he suddenly noticed a red book that stood out too much as it was placed in the middle of blue books.
Viltz tried to grab the book but suddenly a click sounded and the bookshelf began to move to the side, revealing a secret passage.
Walking through the passage, Viltz arrived in front of a cell full of boys and girls between 5 and 10 years old, naked without a single cloth covering their skinny bodies.
A great disgust appeared on Viltz's face as he saw the whip and bite marks on the bodies of those children and a great anger ran through every fiber of his being.
"How twisted the soul of a being has to be to do such a thing to innocent children."
The children were frightened to see the anger in the eyes of that strange man with a bubble on his head.
Viltz tried to calm his fury as he saw the children get scared and after rubbing his cheeks for a while, he said to them in a gentle way.
"Ok children, don't be scared, I'm here to take you to your families ok? Now I'm going to release you and take you home so don't worry."
The children started whispering amongst themselves for a while before a young voice rang out.
"You lie! That man also said the same thing last time but it was a lie!"
"Yes! It's true!"
"He's just lying!"
"I want to go to my parents!"
"Waaa!"
The children suddenly started screaming and crying which left Viltz not knowing how to deal with this problem.
"Good! All right! Calm down kids! I promise I just want to get you out of here."
"It's just another one of that madman's games! He's just doing it to hurt us more!"
Viltz could only sigh with sorrow as he saw the state of these children, he didn't want to imagine the hell they might have gone through.
"Sigh, I guess I need some help on this one."
Pulling out a communication crystal, Viltz called Rita, who took the call a few seconds later.
"Hello Rita..."
"Hello, is everything all right? I see you're in a dark place, and what's that screaming? Are they children?"
"Yes... I called you just for that, I need your help on a somewhat complicated issue, are you available now?"
"Yes, give me a minute and you can open a portal directly to my room."
"Ok."
Ending the call, Viltz waited a minute as he watches the looks of fear and nervousness on the children's faces.
