"I am the great prince Soniatrax Aargus Lixenia!"
Viltz looked at the guy in front of him not understanding what the hell he was talking about.
"You seem to be delirious from the pain, i guess killing you is the only option left, it's better than leaving you in this sorry state, disabled and mentally challenged."
"Yes!!!! Kill me!!!!! Better than suffering such humiliation from a guy like you!"
Viltz frowned at the man's behavior, he knew that some sorcerers could leave a curse on their killers after their death, so he became wary of the man's abnormal behavior.
Lifting his foot off the man's back, Viltz took a piece of cloth from the shirt of another of the corpses and stuffed it into his mouth to prevent him from killing himself by biting his tongue or something.
The man shot a venomous look at Viltz as he let out unintelligible noises.
Viltz ignored him and instead approached the frightened horse that was tied to a tree trunk.
Viltz took some goatskins that the now dead driver used to wear for warmth and placed them on the horse's back. He then took some leather straps from the carriage and used them to tie the goatskin together to make a makeshift saddle.
He tied his pack to one of the straps and the bag of supplies to the other for balance.
Looking at the box of clothing that he could not now carry with him due to its large size, Viltz could only sigh.
Opening the box, Viltz balled up a couple of spare sets of clothes and burned the rest with a fireball.
Tying the ball of clothes next to the backpack, Viltz approached the man with a wicked grin and tied him to one end of the horse's straps as well.
"Okay, now it's time to loot corpses."
The first one he approached was the driver's, from which he took the original coin pouch he gave him, then approached the corpse of the first man he knocked down and rummaged through his pockets, pulling out a few silver and copper coins and nothing else.
Shaking his head, Viltz put the coins back in his pouch and turned to look at the archer.
The archer also had nothing but his bow and arrows.
Sighing in disappointment, Viltz took them and slung them on his back.
Remembering the direction from which the self-proclaimed great prince was coming, Viltz mounted his horse and headed in that direction.
"Good thing that old scoundrel taught me how to ride a horse.
Hey little princess! Is your camp nearby?"
The armless, legless man who was constantly bumping into the horse's thighs could only let out suppressed screams filled with rage and shame.
"Right! You can't talk!"
After a few minutes, Viltz arrived in front of a still burning campfire surrounded by four tents made of animal skins.
An arrow was launched at Viltz's head but he was already prepared and blocked it by materializing a blue shield, then waved his hand and a fireball shot out towards the etacant, burning him to death.
Curiously, the man did not let out a single scream despite being burned alive.
Viltz arched an eyebrow and decided to ask the prince later.
He got off his horse and tied it to a tree before starting to rummage through the various tents, ransacking everything inside.
After going through the three small tents, he found nothing of great value, the only interesting thing he found was a dirty newspaper lying in the corner of one of the tents that he decided to check later.
Viltz put away his loot and proceeded to loot the largest tent.
Entering the tent, he noticed a large bed made of vines and leaves in the center, on one side of the bed was a small dresser on which lay some jewelry and random coins.
Putting them in his pockets, Viltz went on to search through the dresser drawers.
In the first two drawers he found only more coins and jewelry, but in the last drawer he found a small hermetically sealed stone box with a strange pattern drawn on its surface.
Cautious as always, Viltz did not force the box open and instead carefully put it away in his bag before continuing his search for more things.
Five minutes later, Viltz sat in front of the smoldering campfire, examining his haul.
"Let's see, there's a total of 5000 gold coins, a bunch of jewelry, a journal and a mysterious box that i'd rather not open at the moment.
Tomorrow i'll read the diary, i guess i'll sleep here."
Viltz walked up to the man tied to the horse and punched him hard in the face that knocked him unconscious immediately.
Leaning against the tree next to the horse, he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
Two hours later, dawn broke and Viltz opened his eyes.
He climbed onto the horse, took a look at the man who was still passed out, and patted the horse on the backside to get it to start trotting.
As he made his way along the wide, bumpy road, Viltz began to read the diary of one Regius.
Most of the journal was uninteresting content, just the typical bandit stories, but that changed in the last few pages.

- Day 10 of the 2nd of the year 1194.
"Today we looted a dying druid, the poor guy thought we could help him, but when Jerlan approached him, he shoved a dagger through his neck, ending his life.
The druid was quite poor, he had only a silver coin with him, but far from disappointing us, a great ecstasy assaulted us when we found a leather scroll hidden under his tunic, the reason for our ecstasy was that the scroll contained a map indicating a supposed treasure hidden somewhere in these mountains.
I think we will become rich if we find that treasure, i will be able to drink as much as i want and i will have the most beautiful noblewoman spreading his legs to me!"

- Day 16 of the 2nd of the year 1194.
At last we have located the place indicated on the map, it turned out to be a small entrance to a cave, the problem is that it is too small for my companions to enter and the rocks are too hard to dig in them to expand the entrance, therefore, the others forced me to enter by myself, as i am very thin, i can pass through the hole in the cave, although with some difficulty.
Tomorrow i will enter the cave to explore it, they left me no choice, i can't go against the group with my weak strength.

- Day 17 of the 2nd of the year 1194.
"By the gods! I'm screwed!
When i entered the cave, i found a passage that led to the sub floor.
After going down the stairs for more than ten minutes, i finally came to a strange crypt where strange black stone monoliths stood.
At first i was scared because the torches in the crypt lit up by themselves, but when i saw the large amount of jewels and gold in the other part of the crypt, i couldn't help myself and ran straight to grab them but halfway down, one of the monoliths lit up with a blue light and threw a strange beam at me that enveloped me completely.
I got scared and wanted to run away but i was even more afraid of coming back empty handed so i plucked up my courage and picked up some jewelry before running out of the crypt.
The others started arguing with me why i didn't take more of the jewelry that was in the crypt, we argued a lot and in the end they kept everything i took from the crypt.
Those guys didn't want to listen to me, they said they were just excuses and that i was already planning to keep all the treasure!
When i returned to my tent, i noticed that i had a strange tattoo on my chest.
Now i am very scared. What if i have been possessed by a demon? What should i do? Should i pray or go to a church to be purified?
I will talk to my companions later, i don't want to do this anymore."
Closing the journal, Viltz rubbed his chin with interest.
"Hmmm, interesting, very interesting."
Viltz started to remember if any of the three men he looked up had any tattoos on their chests, but he didn't get any impressions.
Viltz turned his gaze to the one person he didn't check closely and a peculiar expression appeared on his face.
He stopped the horse at the side of the road.
Viltz unhooked the man from the horse's waist and slapped him a couple of times in the face.
"Hey princess, i know you're not asleep, you can stop pretending now."
The man opened his eyes and in them was nothing but pure fury and humiliation.
Viltz smiled at him and tore off his tattered shirt, revealing the symbol of an inverted triangle.
"Well, well, what have we here, what should i call you, Soniatrax or Regius?
You know, when one takes control of another person's body, one should at least destroy the clues that might lead to discovering your little secret." Viltz scoffed as he waved the journal in his hand.
The man showed disbelief and amazement at Viltz's first words, but was confused at the second.
"It seems you only took over his body, not his memories. That's interesting.
How did you get control of those three?"
The man turned his head to the side, refusing to look at Viltz.
"Let me guess, you wanted me to kill you so you could escape this body and then try to take over mine, right?"
Viltz smiled and forced the man to look him in the eye.
The man kept averting his gaze unwilling to say a word.
Viltz let go of the man and sneered.
"Although it will be a little tricky, i can extract everything i need from your head."
Viltz walked into the bushes and recited a spell that caused the earth to rise, forming an altar on which he deposited the man.
Green vines appeared on the ground and crawled over the man's body, tying him firmly to the earthen altar.
"I don't know who you are or what era you are from, but let me tell you a secret.
A few years ago, a wizard skilled in mind magic created a spell that allowed certain intentions and thoughts to be blocked from entering the target's will. It was originally developed to protect the lives of people with suicidal tendencies and similar problems, but you know how we wizards are, we corrupt everything that is meant to do good to turn it into a weapon. A few years ago, i met this spell, it is very powerful but it has quite a few disadvantages, for someone who does not master mental magic, one can only use the most basic form of this spell, turning the target into a passive puppet capable only of attending to his physiological needs and answering simple questions for a few seconds before it loses its effect, but if you are skilled enough, one can completely block a thought from their target's mind, with this spell, if i don't want you to resist while i torture you, i only have to command you to forget the concept of resistance, if i want you to obediently answer all my questions, i only have to erase from your mind any notion of resisting my interrogation or any thought of withholding information from your mind.
Unlike spells such as the sign of Axii or the normal mind control spell, which could not affect the psyche of individuals with great willpower or great mental stamina,
this spell penetrated to the depths of the psyche and one could neither resist nor hide any secrets from the caster.
Viltz gave a soft smile to the emaciated man who looked at him with horror in his eyes.
