While wandering through the city, Viltz arrived in front of a bookstore.
Thinking a little, he entered through the door and began to look at the various books carefully arranged on the shelves.
A short time later, a young, curly-haired, freckled man came to attend him.
Hello, good afternoon, are you interested in any of these books?
Viltz nodded and asked: "Can you make me a personalized grimoire?
"Yes we can but you'll have to pay a deposit and wait at least a week before you can pick it up."
"No problem, can you please write it down...I want a grimoire of the highest quality they can make, that is thick cover lined in basilisk's leather and the pages are made of high quality goatskin leather 30x20cm each, and that it has at least 300 pages. As for the decoration on the cover of the grimoire,I'll leave it up to you."
"Do you have any particular preference?"
Viltz thought for a moment and said, "Dragons, gold decorations and the color black,as long as it has those three things it's fine."
"Okay."
The young man quickly wrote down all the specifications and spoke, "We have almost everything except the basilisk's leather,it is a rare material and it will cost us a bit to get it,according to my calculations it will take us two weeks to prepare your grimoire."
"That's all right, I'm in no hurry."
"The advance will be 100 gold coins, the rest will be calculated once the grimoire is finished."
Viltz nodded and paid him the 100 gold coins directly.
Then he began to look through the different books once again, looking for one that interested him.
After browsing through a few books, he picked out three of them, put them in front of the counter and asked, "Do you rent the books or just sell them?"
"This is a bookstore,we only sell,if you want to rent a book you'd better go to the city library."
Viltz nodded, returning the books to their places.
Even though he could buy them outright, doing so would be a waste since once he finished reading them he would simply set them aside gathering dust and taking up more of the little space he had in his small bedroom.
Viltz asked in a deep voice, trying to imitate a joke from the Deadpool 2 movie, "Donde Esta La Biblioteca?"
"Excuse me?"
"I meant if you could point me in the direction of the library."
"Oh yeah, it's three blocks from here, you just have to walk down this street and then...
After walking for a while, Viltz found himself in front of a large door.
As he entered, he noticed a man with a big mustache sitting in front of the counter, engrossed in reading.
Viltz approached the counter and spoke to the man, pulling him out of his reading.
"Excuse me sir, do you rent books?"
The man, with great professionalism, explained to Viltz: "Yes,but it will cost you a guarantee fee and a rental fee.You can rent up to a maximum of three books at a time for a maximum of 30 days.
The rental fee is fixed, so the price is the same no matter if you rent a book for a day or a month.
If you take longer to return it or it is damaged we will keep the guarantee fee and you will not be allowed to rent another book until you have returned the one you have previously taken.
The rental fee is 50 silver coins and the guarantee fee is 10 gold coins per book.
If you want to stay inside the library to read it will be 10 silver coins per hour.
I will give you a small log book where your personal data will be recorded, reading schedule you have spent per session and all the books you have rented. If you don't bring this log book you will be denied entry to the library."
The man looked at the leather bag on Viltz's back and the two books in his hand and continued, "Last but not least, you are not allowed to bring anything inside the library with you.
You can keep your things in one of those lockers at the entrance.
You'll have to buy a lock yourself, there's a store right across the street that can sell you one."
Viltz nodded and went out to buy the lock.
Five minutes later, he returned to the library, leaving his things in one of the lockers and locking it with the newly purchased padlock.
The man at the counter handed him a small book and a pen, directing Viltz where to record his data on the first page.
Viltz quickly recorded all his data and signed at the bottom.
The mustachioed man quickly flipped through the data written by Viltz.

After checking that everything was all right, the man took a stamp and stamped it on the page full of data.
Then he handed the book to Viltz and asked him to come in.
...
Viltz spent an hour browsing through some of the books that interested him before picking out three books that caught his eye and walking to the counter.
Pulling out his register book and 31 gold coins and 60 silver coins, he instructed the mustachioed man to register the books he wanted to rent, then pulled his things off the shelf and stuffed all the books into his leather bag.
Seeing how the bag was so bulging that it looked like it was going to burst at any moment, Viltz sighed, planning to buy a bigger and better quality one later.
As he left the library, Viltz realized that it was about to get dark so he headed straight for the tailor's shop.
Upon entering the tailor's shop, he found the young woman at the counter asleep again, so he tapped the counter a few times to wake her up.
The young woman was startled awake only to notice Viltz standing in front of her.
Scratching her cheek in embarrassment, the young woman, apparently understanding why she was here, told Viltz to wait a moment while she hurried into the tailor's room.
After coming out, she held in her hand a black patch made of leather and cloth, which was an exact copy of the upper part of Ken Kaneki's mask.
Viltz gently took the leather patch from the young woman's hands.
He removed the bandage he wore around her left eye and put on the patch.Opening her left eye, he noticed how he felt no discomfort and no light leaked from the edges of the patch.
Closing the eye again, Viltz could only sigh, unless he wanted everyone whether they were wizards or common people to notice him for having such a strange eye, he would rather wear this patch. Even though it would still draw attention, most would just think he lost an eye.
Now he could only grit his teeth and try to get used to seeing only with his right eye.
The young woman, seeing Viltz with the patch on,gave him a thumbs up,apparently trying to cheer him up,thinking he was an unfortunate child who lost an eye.
Viltz smiled at her and took out two gold coins and five silver coins, finishing paying her for the patch.
Then he looked at his leather bag and asked, "Do you have leather bags or backpacks?if it can be a backpack, all the better."
"Yes, wait a minute."
The girl grabbed the coins and walked back into the room.
After a minute, the young woman returned with five bags and three backpacks in her hands, placing them on the counter so Viltz could get a better look at them.
Viltz reached over and grabbed a black leather backpack with multiple pockets.
Opening it and noting how roomy it was, Viltz nodded with satisfaction and asked the young woman for its price.
"This backpack costs five gold coins."
Viltz took out the five gold coins directly, paying for the backpack.
He then took out everything he carried in his leather bag and put it in the backpack. Then he carefully folded the bag and put it in one of the backpack's pockets.
Putting the backpack on his back, Viltz thanked the girl and then left in the direction of the inn.
