Chapter 25 - author's note

I'm Stopping the Novel "Double POV"

This might seem sudden, but let me explain.

Dear readers, it has been two, maybe even three months since I last gave any updates. Some of you may have been eagerly waiting for new chapters to be published. Unfortunately, I have encountered several obstacles.

First, there were health issues. Of course, this isn't an excuse, especially when we consider the inhumane working conditions some authors endure, particularly mangaka who spend decades drawing and writing their works without proper rest, all while managing incredibly tight schedules. Compared to that, my issues are minor.

When it comes to my studies, I could have still found time to write 500 words a day, which would have been enough to produce two chapters per week. But that's not the real reason for my absence.

The true cause of my decision lies in religion.

To be completely honest, I am a Muslim. And while rereading one of my chapters, I realized that I had mentioned the word "priest." This seemingly insignificant detail triggered a sudden mental block. Because when we hear that word, it inevitably evokes associations with a specific religion.

As a Muslim, I deeply respect all religions. But even though "Double POV" is a fictional story entirely born from my imagination, I cannot bear the thought that my writing might, even unintentionally, disrespect any religion.

That's why I decided to remove any mention of religion from the story. Fortunately, I hadn't developed that aspect of the plot too much yet, so it would have been easy to fix.

However, as I dug deeper into the matter, a broader question came to mind: "Are there specific rules a Muslim must follow when writing a novel?"

After researching online, I found my answer. Islam, contrary to what some might think, is not as strict or demanding when it comes to creative expression. Writing novels—whether they are about superheroes, science fiction, or other genres—is entirely permissible.

But upon further reflection, I realized that many of the ideas in my story didn't align with certain core principles. This would have required me to rewrite the entire story, which ultimately discouraged me.

So, it is with regret that I have decided to stop working on the novel "Double POV."

I want to thank everyone who supported me, who read my chapters, and who shared their enthusiasm. This experience has taught me so much, both about writing and about myself.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
