"I did not bow down to you, I bowed down to all the suffering of humanity."
- Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Incoherent howling and a loud cry fill my mind with hate and sorrow. The shadows claw at me, trying to take away my sanity. They keep telling me how ungrateful I am for not using what they gave me. I feel as if layers of my consciousness are being peeled away. All my attempts to rise above the shadows become futile. At the last minute, I decide to swim downwards. As I move closer to the source of the darkness, the light from outside wraps around me, and my reality is warped to an open white room with a dark door. I sit on the floor, unable to move. I feel the hairs on my skin begin to rise; something is coming out the door.
I hear a short buzzing sound, and then all of a sudden, a huge dark figure emerges and lets out a screechy roar. All of a sudden, I feel a sudden surge of energy. I hear the girl's voice once again in my ears. I start to feel the sensation of someone holding me. The monster keeps roaring and starts to stretch its claw to grab me.
I hear her speak in my ear, "Who are you?" in a sobbing voice. I pass out, letting out a loud roar that collides with the monster, breaking us free to the reality where the first monster still was.
