The flight from Almia to Vespera takes 4 hours.
As Sheila sat on the plane, a handsome man in a very elegant business suit sat next to her, catching her attention.
The suit he wore was impeccable and sophisticated, reflecting his refined style and sense of fashion.
The suit jacket, tailored and fitted, was made of high-quality fabric showing a dark, deep tone, like navy blue or charcoal gray. The shoulders were sharp and elegant, enhancing his serious face.
'Why would someone like that be on a commercial flight?' Sheila wondered as she observed the man.
The clothes he wore contrasted with hers. Sheila was wearing a soft, neutral-toned cotton T-shirt that conveyed a sense of comfort.
Over it, she had a light, versatile jacket, perfect for adapting to temperature changes during the flight.
Her pants, made of loose, comfortable fabric, allowed her to move freely. Completing her outfit, she wore flat, comfortable shoes. She had a small, functional black bag as her travel companion.
Sheila projected an image of practicality and comfort, avoiding unwanted attention.
Sighing and focusing on her bag, Sheila took out a medical book to study.
Soon the plane took off, and after a few minutes, she heard a voice, which she ignored, but after a few more minutes, she heard it again.
Focusing on her surroundings, she noticed that the voice was coming right from her right ear.
Turning her head, she saw that the man was watching her.
"Wow, you were really engrossed in that book. Do you like medicine?"
Sheila nodded.
"And do you understand that book? It seems complicated."
Sheila had a medical book in her hands with certain techniques involving the golden needles she sometimes used in her operations.
"Is there anything simple?"
The man in the suit was surprised by Sheila's response.
"Good point. What's your name?"
"Treit," Sheila replied immediately, giving a false name in the process.
The truth was she didn't want to get involved with anyone right now.
The man in the suit took her response with humor, letting out a small laugh, and then commented:
"That sounds like a video game character's name."
"Well, it's my name," Sheila explained, slightly annoyed, not wanting to abandon her lie, showing a serious demeanor, but due to Sheila's young appearance, she looked like an angry little kitten.
From the man's perspective, Sheila looked very cute.
"Great, then I… am called Blortus."
Intentionally, the man said this last part in an overly serious tone, which made Sheila chuckle.
'How ridiculous! Does he really think I won't notice it's a fake name?'
Seeing that his joke had worked, the man smiled triumphantly.
"Nice to meet you."
Without waiting for Sheila's response, the man had introduced himself and replied himself.
How could someone exist who contrasted so much with the clothes he was wearing?
Sheila's first impression of him was that he would be another one of those boring guys who only talked about deals and business, imposed abusive working hours on their employees, or released medicines that half-cured diseases to have lifelong customers.
Sheila greatly valued her independence, and anything that compromised her time, she denied without hesitation, but right now she was laughing at something absurd… done by a guy who seemed like a businessman!
"You're an idiot," Sheila said with a small smile.
"Thanks for the compliment. What brings you to Vespera?"
"I'm going to… visit my family," Sheila replied, trying not to show her displeasure at the thought.
"I thought you'd say you were going to save the world."
Sheila didn't expect that joke, so she laughed again.
Was this a clown in a suit she had in front of her?
"And you? What are you going to do in Vespera?" Sheila asked as she put the medical book back in her bag.
"Nothing important. I'm returning after a boring business trip. Do you drink?"
"Yes."
Raising his hand for a moment, remembering he was on a commercial flight, Blortus pretended to adjust his hair.
"Shall we have a drink later?"
Sheila hesitated to accept the invitation, as she wanted to quickly resolve her family matter once she arrived in Vespera, but…
When was the last time she had had a date?
The last date Sheila remembered was one she had in college which was…
Horrible.
Horrible to say the least, as it ended in complete failure.
Not to mention that it affected her grades, and discovering that the guy she went out with tried to date other girls besides her…
It was horrible.
And the worst part was that the more she advanced and got more into her work, the harder it was to find a partner, as she had less time, and the guys who approached her…
Wanted her to work at their company or directly wanted her to quit her job!
'Why did you have to be dressed like that?' Sheila thought with regret, but…
Blortus didn't seem like the typical boring suit guy, and the chances of him knowing about her job…
"Okay," Sheila said, trying not to think anymore.
