The explosion was so big that it could have been seen from miles away. Everything in the surroundings was turned into ashes, including Kai's old house and his training area. The explosion lasted for five whole minutes.
As the explosion ended, only two figures could be seen in the smoke. They were Simon and Rin. Simon's barrier protected Rin and himself during the explosion.
"WH...." Rin tried to speak, but she was too stunned by what she had just witnessed.
Rin began to take heavy breaths, trying to ease her heart as it was too much for her kind heart to digest at once. Her gray eyes were searching through the ashes, looking for Eiera, but the more she gazed around, the faster her heartbeat got faster.
Rin was not able to see either Eiera or the Monster. Everywhere she looked was ashes and smoke. There was no sign of life left outside of Simon's barrier.
