The Earth was left in ruins after a problematic battle among the gods. In desperation, they sought the help of a newly ascended god named Frerend. Unbeknownst to them, Frerend harboured his agenda; he devised a fate system that bound each deity to destiny and altered their memories to believe that fate had always governed them.
However, one god liberated himself from this fate and forged a realm of magic, seeking refuge from the turmoil. Frerend, masquerading as Kaduir, a mere merchant, searched for this hidden world for ages.
When he finally discovered it, he was thwarted by a sorcerer named Solomon, who guarded the gateway between the two worlds. Having mastered the arcane arts to the degree that rivalled the gods, Solomon had transcended the basic manipulation of atomic structures and particle movement through mere thought.
He crafted enigmatic artefacts that autonomously comprehended the complexities of magic; one needed only to think, and it would manifest. As Solomon clashed with Kaduir, he was nearly cleaved in two by the formidable power of a god who sought to dominate his abilities by tethering them to fates. Yet, Solomon managed to escape, inscribing a rune onto the gateway with his last ounce of mental energy, subsequently vanishing into a mist devoid of magic. Kaduir, unable to decipher or dismantle the rune, was forever barred from finding the world again.
