Chapter 2 - Chapter 2.

It was already two months since I was brought to the new world and I was already gotten rid of.

I didn't really get what my mother was saying because I fell asleep, even though I really wanted to listen. But it had something to do with my crest.

After my mom finished celebrating my birth she looked at my chest and her face turned pale.

She began speaking with the other lady (maybe a nurse).

I didn't know why but the tension was much. She covered my chest after looking at it for sometime.

*I wonder what's going on.*

Few days later, my mom left the house after leaving a black necklace-like object with me.

The nurse, who I later found out was my mom's sister began acting like my mom. She took very good care of me and even tried breastfeeding me. Of course, I didn't take it.

Well, that was pretty much how my life was for a long while.

Nothing serious happened since we lived in a place deep inside the forest, I was even scared that I'd die seeing the same face every day.

As I grew, I began learning things about that world through books and stories that my moms sister told me.

At age five, I began helping out on the farm since I had nothing serious to do. She also began leaving the house on several occasions for her work.

During one of those days, I found a big book, heavier that I was, hidden under some pile of other books.

I opened it and began reading it.

*Ohh… this world must be a magical world.* I thought, swinging my legs as I read it.

From that day, I began going into the forest to practice what I learnt, and I must say am a pretty fast learner.

By the time I was six, I already knew how to use most of the magic.

"Mom, mom." I called running towards my mom, a fireball floating in my hand.

"Natsuo!" She called angrily as she turned towards me.

"M-mom," I called, wondering why she was mad.

"Don't use magic again, especially outside the house." She said angrily as I looked down.

"B-but..."

"No, I just want you to stay safe." She said with a smile.

*No, I need to protect her and be able to use it well.* I thought as I nodded.

*It's to protect her when danger arises.* I always thought, i was probably saying it to give myself hope. Things went on like that, and I kept learning new magic tricks using the old book I found at home.

"Who's there?" I asked, looking around.

"Hello there, young lad." A man with light blue long hair called, walking up to me.

"What do you want?" I asked, looking as brave and courageous as ever before hiding the book.

"Hey, don't be like that. I was just passing by and saw how hard you trained." He said, smiling.

*Who's this guy? I've never seen him before.*

"Okay, I'll be leaving." I said before grabbing the book and walking out.

The next day, I went there as usual and met him sitting there.

"Oh, hey." He said, smiling.

"Hmm," I just sat there reading the book.

"Am Rio, you?" He asked as I looked up at him.

"Hirota." I answered before facing the book.

NEXT DAY.

"Hey, Hirota-chan, is this how you train every day? Just by reading?" He asked.

"Not exactly."

"Oh..."

NEXT DAY.

*Doesn't this guy have some other thing to do. I've not practised my magic since he started coming here* I thought, sitting on the floor.

"Here's some lunch, want some?" He asked, smiling.

"Not really." I said, flipping the page.

"That necklace looks nice. Can i take a look at it?" He asked, smiling.

"Am sorry, but no." I replied.

"Oh...."

My mom asked me never to take the necklace off, she didn't tell me why, though.

This continued for days till I became a little bit closer to him. We talked about our village and the capital. What I wanted to try in the future and the rest, but I never practised using magic in front of him.

Weeks turned into months, and he decided to visit my home. He did so and introduced himself to my mom.

A few days later, I went to the forest to practice my magic. Rio wasn't there, so it was better that way. I stayed till sunset. I went back home happily cause my abilities were increased.

"Shut up bitch!" I heard someone say inside the house.

*Huh?* I thought walking in just to see Rio holding a knife and stabbing my mom continuously on her stomach.

"M-m-mom?" I looked at her.

"Hirota, please run." She said.

"H-hirota." Rio called standing and walking towards me as my mom grabbed his leg. "You.." He called hitting her.

"MOM!!!!!" I screamed before running out.

She was about to die and I couldn't do anything for her. I caused everything. Tears flowed down my eyes as I ran into the forest.

Worst of all,I couldn't use the magic I practised for her.

"Check him in the forest!" I heard Rio shout as I ran deeper into the forest.

*MOM!!* I kept crying as I ran on and on till I reached a cliff.

*Am so pathetic*

"Check that way."

Before I knew it, I was surrounded. I didn't know what to do and I feared death.

*Why did I learn magic? Its too bad since I can't even protect myself.* I thought as tears flowed down my eyes.

"Ouch." I said holding my head as I sat up.

*Where am I?* I thought looking around. *I remember passing out in the class. And what were those painful memories?*

"Oh, young man. Looks like you've woken up." An old man said smiling as he walked into the room I laid in.

*Oh, I guess I remember seeing someone like him coming to rescue..... Wait, I thought I had died.*

"If you're worried about those guys that came to kill you, my party dealt with them." He said.

*Party? What the hell? Was I reincarnated? Well, that would explain those memories from earlier. And I feel so..... so full of guilt and hatred.*

"Grandpa, I'll go get the porridge." A young girl said smiling as she walked out. She came back few minutes later with a bowl.

"Please, do eat." He said placing the bowl infront of me.

"Th-thanks. " I said grabbing the spoon and putting the porridge in my mouth.

*It's been long since I ate. I wonder how mom and dad are doing.* I thought as tears dropped from my eye.

"Hmm? Is the food bad?"

"N-no."

*What the hell? Why am I crying?*

"Do you not have a place to stay?" The old man asked when I was done with the food.

"No, but I won't like to keep imposing on you." I said standing up.

"I can't leave a young lad to himself. And it's already late." He said smiling.

"O-oh."
