"Why don't you go out with me? I would be the perfect guy for you." Ghost said to the girl he had been fighting. He wasn't actually fighting her since he knew that it was a waste of time. The girl would attack in the direction of his voice but he was actually inside the cafe, watching her.
"Let's be honest, I'm the only guy that can last so long against you and I guarantee to last longer in bed, so why not?" Ghost kept teasing the girl, waiting for her to tire out. It was then that a flash bang seemed to go off. The world turned white then pitch black in an instant.
The girl that Ghost was fighting was in indescribable pain. Her ability allowed her to be intangible to anything of her choosing. She had made herself intangible to solids and tangible to gases in order to breathe while being intangible but it became her undoing. All the air was suddenly ignited causing her body and her lungs to be burnt.
She didn't know what happened. The world turned white before she was set on fire. She didn't even know how she had died.

On the top floor of the tallest building in the city, the soft ding of the elevator was heard before the doors silently opened. Chris left the elevator and walked into the wide open floor that was used as a gym. There were two guys wearing the Katix uniform and they only spared Chris a glance.
One of the guys was doing pull ups at a very fast pace but there wasn't a drop of sweat on him. The other was standing by the window his back facing Chris. Chris made a beeline for the guy at the window.
"Looks like you have to go." Chris said to the guy once he was a few steps behind him. The guy let out a resigned sigh and stared at the ceiling. He suddenly vanished and appeared in front of the elevator that opened automatically. He walked in, set the elevator to deliver him to the ground floor and left. His back remained facing Chris throughout the process.
Chris waited for a minute before heading to the elevator. It opened with a soft ding and a pair of black boots were the only thing left inside. "Hmmm, looks like this will be over quickly."
"In the meantime, " Chris said as he turned to the guy doing pull ups. "I'm gonna find out what your ability is."
"I have superhuman physical attributes. Everyone knows it." The guy answered as he released the bar and landed softly.
"I maybe lazy but I'm not stupid. I know that you fooled everyone and I don't care for your reasons. All I want to know is what your ability really is."
"Like you said, you're lazy, why are you so interested in my ability?"
"Let's just say that I'm a little paranoid and like to keep track of things." Chris said as two clones appeared by his side.
"You know that this is just a virtual test and you can't do anything to hurt me, right?" The guy asked as he loosened his stiff muscles.
"I know. Which means there will be no hard feelings for what I'm about to do." As he said that, two more clones appeared and walked to the elevator, guarding it.
"You talk like I am helpless against you." The guy got into a fighting stance with his arms covering his face.
"You are stalling so that he can win and get you out of this. It's a good plan but I don't need that long to make you talk. " With that, a bloody fistfight began between two classmates.

This week was not going well for Jake. He was moved to this new combat oriented class along with his brother and he hated it. The teacher was a deadbeat that made Jake wonder how he even got a job. The bullying had gotten even worse than his previous class.
Worst of all, that short, muscle brained, idiot of an older brother decided to run off and abandon him. Now he was sweaty, tired and running for his life. "Why did I have to get such a useless ability?"
With a quick glance behind him, Jake saw his pursuer preparing another attack. His eyes flashed a blue light before a voice echoed in his mind. 'Incoming projectile. Evasive maneuvers deemed inefficient as they will hinder primary objective of survival. Logical conclusion, maintain current pace and make a sharp right in ten meters.'
Jake hated this voice more than anything. It could come up with solutions to every problem but refused to account for his human body. Jake barely made it past the five meter mark when a spike pierced his left thigh. He fell to the ground screaming in agony, tears streaming down his face.
'New path to survival required. Path found. Reap out the spike in your thigh and throw it at your assailant, ensure to aim for the jugular.' Jake couldn't take it anymore and immediately snapped back at the voice. "If you won't help me then get out of my head!"
'I cannot get out of your head as I am a manifestation of your ability. Furthermore, I gave you a flawless path to avoid such situations on the same day I manifested. I fail to understand why you would not follow it.' The voice, very similar to his own, said neutrally.
"I will not let you take my brother's body just for his ability!!! "
'I am not taking his body for it does not complete any subdivision of the main objective. The current objective will be achieved when you gain a body strong enough to cooperate with your brain without collapsing. Your brother just happens to have a body that meets those requirements and more.'
"Just help me survive this since that is your main objective." Jake said in a defeated tone.
'This is a virtual world, your life isn't threatened which means that you should escape through your own means. I have provided the path, you should provide the effort.'
"I'm injured and I don't even know how long I can stay in this state. Please, help me." Jake begged the voice. He could see that the world around him was moving in slow motion. Jake could see his assailant rushing at him with another spike manifesting from his palm. The image would have been even more terrifying if his attacker wasn't moving at an agonizingly slow pace.
'You can stay in this state for ten seconds but it will not save your life. It will only serve to delay the inevitable.' The voice answered. 'In order to spare you from the traumatic pain you are about to experience various measures will be taken.'
Once the voice completed its sentence time finally returned to normal. In the next instant, multiple things happened at once. The spike conjured by Jake's assailant flew forward aiming for his neck. Jake felt his body move involuntarily, forcing him to bow his head. The spike, aimed for his neck, pierced his skull, killing him instantly.
'Objective; Quick and painless, has been achieved.' The voice said to itself since Jake had perished.

At one of the major junctions in the virtual city, a disturbing scene could be witnessed. An amber liquid with the consistency of tree sap covered most of the area but this was the most normal thing about the area. The disturbing part, were the corpses stuck inside it. Multiple bodies, stuck in different poses, were dead with their lifeless eyes staring into space.
"Please, stop! I'm begging you! Please forgive me! No more! Please!" A young man kept begging amidst sobs with snot and tears covering his face. He continued begging even though there didn't seem to be any living person around him. His body was immersed in the amber liquid leaving only his face exposed.
The amber liquid slowly rose above him and formed the silhouette of a young lady that quickly grew more defined. Though not entirely defined, the face formed by the amber was undoubtedly pretty. But that was the last thing the young man could think of. To him, this girl was nightmare fuel. She had been suffocating him then granting him air just before he passed out for much longer than he could remember.
"You attacked me first when I was just minding my own business! You blew my head off! You deserve to suffer for doing that to me and I'll make sure you regret being born!" The amber girl screamed hysterically causing all the amber in the area to shake and quake. The result of this quaking was a few of the corpses being crushed to a pulp by their amber prison.
"I wish that was me." The young man thought to himself having already given up. The young man's vision suddenly turned pitch black and all brain activity ceased. The amber girl was also frozen and in silence. Her rage had left her entirely speechless.
The young man was dead and it wasn't her doing. The guy's face had imploded as if a heavy object had struck it. She knew who it was. There was only one person who could pull off such a thing, technically two if Ghost was included, but this wasn't Ghost's style.
"AAAARRRIIIIISSSSSS!!!!!!!!" The roar from the amber girl was filled with rage which reflected on the amber surrounding her. It moved violently destroying all that it could.
