Vasily went on, "You praise me too much. All I did was help a friend in need, if I didn't lend a hand, Alessander and grandfather would've made examples out of them." He spoke gently, but his words carried a menacing aura.
As though he were brutally reminding the old man of his favor and threatening him all at the same time.
"I know, no need to remind me. Had the two of them only waited for the right time to take Alessander out..." He clenched his jaw. "Those idiots! How hard was it to kill a man right in front of them?!"
Natalia bit back a gasp.
Her grandfather was in on this little scheme? 'What a load of bullshit' she thought, too disgusted to listen further.
"Well, well, it wasn't entirely their blunder. His lover's men did intervene before they had their chance, if Rowan wasn't in the equation..." He left his words hanging.
The old man's interest was piqued. "What are you insinuating boy?"
