Captain Gina stared wide eyed at the man sitting across from her in the cafeteria of some clinic close to the city's outskirts. After receiving a call while on patrol that two police cars had been hijacked, she never expected the one who made the call to be her friend's situationship. And the man who had the police department in a chokehold over his arrest.
"Mr Hayes, can you explain to me what it was that brought you here?" Gina asked, stealing glances from her folder, carrying the statements of the other hostages.
Her eyes fell to the bandage on his right shoulder, resulting from a shallow knife slice from one of the attackers.
"I got a call from the owner's granddaughter, Jess, Doc Phil had been kidnapped and she was panicked. I came down to calm her, but didn't expect things to escalate this far." Rowan explained.
