Aniya stayed still in his arms. Her heart was racing, and she wasn't sure if it was from the sudden pull or the way his voice had softened.
His embrace was warm and welcoming and all she wanted to do was snuggle more into him. For a moment she forgot, where she was, who she was.
"Are you alright?" She smiled at the concern in his voice and nodded against his chest. She pulled back a little, just enough to look at him, their faces inches apart.
This was the first time, a man stood so close to her with her consent. His eyes were searching hers, filled with something she couldn't put her finger on.
Was it guilt?
Care?
Or longing?
Whatever it was, it was surreal.
Her lips parted as if to say something, but no words came out of her mouth. Before she could think, he leaned in a little, until his soft lips touched hers.
It wasn't rushed or urgent.
