Lisa was coming back after her early morning jog when she found Aniya sitting near the stairs of her apartment, waiting for her.
"Aniya?" She called her name in disbelief and then took a sigh of relief when found no wetness on her face, "Thank God, you aren't crying. I thought you were upset," she unlocked her apartment door and pushed it a little to let Aniya in.
"What are you doing at my doorstep this early?" She turned to her after pulling off her woolen scarf from her head, "Weren't we supposed to meet in the afternoon for the movie?"
Aniya didn't say anything and got down on a chair, "I … I want water." She requested in a hoarse whisper.
Lisa gave her an odd look before fetching a bottle from the fridge, "Are you alright?" she saw Aniya emptying the glass in a few gulps.
"Do you want more?" she asked, but Aniya shook her head after wiping her mouth with the back of her hand.
