Nina's face twisted with rage. She wanted to lunge at Valerie, to scream at her, to wipe that smug smile off her face. But the thick glass partition and the two guards by the door made it next to impossible.
Valerie picked up her purse in style and slung it over her shoulder. There was calmness on her face and pride in her smile.
"Enjoy your stay, Nina. Oh, and don't bother asking for updates on Abi or Rafael, or Marissa. You're out of their lives for good."
With that she walked out of the room, her heels clicking against the floor.
Nina sat frozen, her breathing ragged. She could feel her fury boiling over her senses, "You'll regret this, Valerie," she whispered to herself, her voice trembling with hatred, "You'll regret this!"

As parents, Marissa and Rafael also needed to visit home due to Alex and Ariel. Sophia was also taking care of the kids along with Flint and Joseph.
