A young doctor in scrubs knelt beside her, holding a small plush teddy bear, "Hey, Abigail Sinclair. What's his name?" There was a warm smile on his face.
Abi giggled and clutched the teddy in her arms, "I'm not a kid to hold a teddy like this!" Marissa who was standing close by, hid her smile.
Unlike last night, she and Rafael were more relaxed today. Abi was the most naïve child among her three kids but today she also thought that she was bigger for this teddy.
"Is he brave like you?" The doctor pulled a small disposable glove from his pocket and tied it into a makeshift cape.
"Hihi. Are you changing him into a superhero?" Abigail asked while watching the doctor with interest.
Marissa looked over her shoulder where Rafael stood by the door. She could feel the strained expression on his face behind that easy smile. She went to him and took hold of his hand, "Ready for this?"
