Chereads / Diary of The Dead Wizard / Chapter 185 - 185

Chapter 185 - 185

Chapter 185 – Heavy Rainfall is Coming

Saul nodded and jumped straight out of the car against the wind.

His collar was blown open a bit by the wind, revealing a pocket-sized wooden sculpture worn with black rope and thumb-sized at his neck.

The black rope wasn't long, and the doll fit snugly between his collarbones and didn't wobble even though Saul had just jumped.

Upon closer inspection, there was a wooden spike behind that sculpture that was piercing deep into Saul's skin.

This was before Saul left. The temporary locator that was rushed out.

It can last for three months.

Basically, you don't have to worry about the out-of-body problem.

"Go back and find an inn to rest, I'll walk by myself from here."

The driver hesitated and asked carefully, "Young master, please let me wait for you here."

This gusty wind was blowing, and there was no telling how much rain would fall in a while. Even Saul didn't know how long he would be back.

Even so, the cart driver still wished to wait where he was.

Saul didn't force him, "Feel free. If you're parked on the side of the road, hide in the carriage, don't just sit outside in the rain."

The coachman bent down deeply, "Please be careful, young master!"

Leaving the driver behind, Saul approached the blocked path against the gusty wind.

He observed for a while and determined that this place should have been layered with people to the point that the entire path was sealed tightly.

He walked toward a dilapidated hut nearby and knocked on the door.

After a long time, an old man with tattered clothes and misty eyes opened the door a small crack.

"What is it?" The old man's voice was also swallowed by the gale.

Sol reached out and held the door, "Greetings, old lady. I have not been here in many years, why is this road blocked?"

The old man heard Saul's words clearly, but didn't realize it was due to sorcery.

Once she saw that Saul was asking about the path, a flash of unease flickered in her cloudy eyes.

"You can't go in there, anyone who goes in there is either dead or crazy!"

It sounded dangerous, but it was just as well that this was Saul's destination.

"But I have friends who live here, are they all dead?"

The old man looked up at Saul in surprise, looking at the plain clothes and pants he was wearing, and hesitated before saying, "The people who lived in there didn't die and moved away. My wife can't walk, so she stays here. Young man, listen to my advice, whether your friend is still alive or not, you should not go looking for him, where you came from, go back to where you came from."

Saul reluctantly asked again, "Old lady, then do you know what really happened?"

But the old man was not very eager to answer his question, and surprisingly wanted to shrink back into the door.

Seeing this, Saul spread out his hand and exhibited a silver coin.

The old man is taken aback and stops trying to close the door.

With her eyes fixed on the silver coin, she said shakily, "All I know is that the first place where people started to die was Ralph Manor at the end of the road. It's changed its name several times, and now it's called back to Ralph's Manor."

Still, the old man advised Saul, "Don't go there and don't ask around, it's too dangerous!"

"Ralph ..." Saul muttered, "And no one cares?"

This is at least the Wizard Tower's territory, and if it is reported, it is also considered a third level apprentice's outing mission.

Who knows that the old man just shook his head.

Saul asked a few more questions, and most of the old men couldn't answer.

Finally, he shoved the silver coin in his hand into the old man's hand and turned to leave.

Looking at Saul still over the fence toward the inside, the old man closed the door with a worried face ... and then, grinning widely, revealed an excited to twisted smile.

She proudly rubbed and rubbed this silver coin, kissed it again and again, and finally carefully put it into an inconspicuous ceramic jar.

Inside the jar, there was already a thick pile of copper coins, silver coins, and even a few gold coins.

After all this, the old man changed back to a sad expression and sat on a small stool, waiting for the next asker.

... Ralph, was Syd's grandfather.

And Syd, was the first mortal enemy that Saul encountered after coming to this world.

Most importantly, Syd knew that the Death Wizard Diary was in Saul's possession.

At first, Saul used the diary to learn from Sid's remaining consciousness that the Death Wizard diary was passed down from their Bloodthorn family ancestors.

It was just that no one had been able to unlock the secrets of the diary and become its true owner.

For this reason, Cid's grandfather had tried many methods, and even went mad for a long time because of it.

According to Sid, by the time he entered the Sorcerer's Tower, everyone in his family had already been killed by his grandfather. Even his grandfather died later.

But here's a question, how did Sid escape and still enter the wizard's tower where the diary is located.

"The tower master sent me here to solve the trouble, and it is likely that it has something to do with Cid and his family. Are there any other survivors of their family? Or maybe there are evil spirits with some of their consciousness remaining? Crucially, does anyone else know about the existence of the diary?"

At the mention of the diary, Saul was a little nervous.

"Resolving the trouble left over from two years ago ... Why did you wait these two years, was it to wait for me to enter the second level?"

Then the enemy's strength was at least above the average level two apprentice.

With his most important secret at stake, Saul's brows furrowed.

In fact, after Cid's death, Saul had planned to go to his family's old location to look for the secret of the diary. However, at that time, he was only a level one, so he did not have the qualifications or ability to go out of the tower, so this matter could only be put on hold for now.

He didn't expect to be assigned here by the tower master in advance.

Therefore, the "leftover trouble" is definitely related to Sid, and the strange events in Thorpe Town are probably also related to that trouble.

On this trip, Saul deliberately hid the distinctive features of a Sorcerer Tower apprentice, and changed into the clothes of an ordinary mercenary.

But in this empty street, his appearance was still somewhat presentable.

Another gust of wind whistled past, taking away a broken branch on the ground.

When the branch fell back to the ground, Saul had already disappeared.

As Saul came to the end of the path, the dark clouds in the sky grew thicker and thicker. It was clearly daytime, but it was so gloomy that it looked like dusk.

A magnificent manor appeared before Saul's eyes.

And even though the gates were full of traces of corrosion from the wind and rain, the fence siding was peeling off, and there was a field of rubble and dead branches, it could not hide the former splendor of this place.

Crossing the high fence, the roof of the castle inside could be seen from afar.

Just as Saul was considering whether to push the door in or go over the wall, he suddenly felt someone peering at him.

Without hesitation, Saul turned around to catch up.

Halfway through his run, he suddenly crouched down and got up again, picking up a stone and flinging it out.

"Ouch!" A boy cried out in pain.

Saul stepped forward and was just about to grab him when suddenly a small fireball came flying rapidly from a distance.

Saul hastily dodged out of the way, but unexpectedly the small fireball exploded in mid-air and turned into countless small sparks, covering all the directions he could dodge.

There was nowhere to dodge, so he didn't dodge.

A big transparent hand suddenly appeared in front of him, rushing at those small sparks and slapping them.

The small sparks that were raging were instantly fanned out, and the remaining few couldn't hurt Saul anymore.

"Huh?" Another older voice came out from behind the house to Sol's left.

Saul looked sideways, only to see an old man with a wooden staff and gray hair, coming out from behind a corner and looking at himself in amazement.

"Being able to instantly fire a 0th rank sorcery, not bad, you've already been promoted to a 2nd rank apprentice, right?" The other party was old, but his hands looked sharp.

From the magic fluctuations that had just escaped, the white-haired old man looked like an ordinary third level apprentice. Unless he was deliberately hiding his strength.
