Chereads / Diary of The Dead Wizard / Chapter 176 - 176

Chapter 176 - 176

Chapter 176 – Accidents Happen All the Time

Saul was actually more panicked than Ferguson.

He had experienced the scene of the corpses surrounding him once and knew that as long as he didn't violate any taboos, there was usually no danger.

What he panicked about was how could these corpses run outside the warehouse?

Was this a failure of the treasury's taboo, or was it Saul's faulty work?

Before figuring out the truth, the enemy doesn't move, I don't move.

Saul just pretends he's one of the corpses, silently watching Ferguson.

Saul, who was mixed in the pile of corpses, didn't realize what Ferguson had gone through in these few short seconds.

Ferguson was just about to flee the scene with the red candle when suddenly a huge axe fell from the sky and split his head in half with a single blow.

Soon Ferguson was back in the dark hallway and back on his feet.

He realizes that what he just witnessed was nothing more than a hallucination.

But before he could react, the ground beneath his feet suddenly turned into a swamp, and no matter how much he struggled, he couldn't escape, and finally had to let the mud fill his mouth and nose and go over the top of his skull.

Ferguson woke up again only a moment before he suffocated.

But next, he was pierced through the heart by a sharp blade and died, gnawed to death by countless bugs, and traveled through the darkness until he was completely lost ...

He struggled through countless kinds of death, and was easily brought back to reality and quickly pulled back into the abyss.

When he was about to go crazy, a white electric current instantly galvanized and directly enveloped Ferguson's entire body into it.

"No!!!"

Ferguson's eyes instantly widened as his consciousness finally returned to reality.

Seeing the uncountable miserable white faces already close at hand, he immediately waved his hands, the white currents around his body converging into his hands, transforming into two long whips.

With a shock of his wrists, the currents flung away and lashed at the surrounding corpses.

The powerful electric field instantly destroyed the illusion created by the corpses.

However, the terrifying crackling electric whip could only leave a scorched black mark on the corpses, and could not even cause the corpses to take half a step back.

As Ferguson attacked, the box containing the red candle fell to the ground, and the red candle tumbled out of it, its white flame upward, but still burning steadily.

Ferguson accidentally kicked the candle between actions.

The candle gurgled and rolled into the corner, instantly attracting all the attention of the corpses.

Now Ferguson suddenly realized that the movement of the corpses was caused by the candle.

"Saul!" He angrily looked towards the boy in the group of corpses, and the electric whip in his hand unexpectedly flung towards Saul as well.

Saul only felt his hair strands stand on end when he saw the flashing white electricity coming head on.

He hastily made a sideways move and ducked behind a nearby corpse.

"Pop!"

The corpse suffered for Saul, but Saul was still agitated by the electric current conducted from the corpse that made his whole body tingle.

"Ferguson, it was an accident! Who knew lighting a candle outside would have such consequences."

As he spoke, Saul ran in the direction of the candles, as long as the candles were extinguished, the corpses should go back.

Ferguson didn't know what Saul was going to do, when he saw him running in the direction of the candles, the first thought in his mind was "he's going to grab the candles".

He no longer cared about whether the fierce battle would trigger further mutation of the corpses, and his thick whips were like two boa constrictors waiting for an opportunity to move, opening their sharp teeth at Saul.

Saul squeezed his way through the corpses like buying groceries in a crowded food market.

A bolt of electricity landed right in front of Saul, and although most of it was blocked by the surrounding corpses, it still caused him to feel paralyzed all over.

In the next second, a transparent barrier enveloped Saul, and at the same time cut off the electricity.

"Ferguson, do you want to kill me?" If it wasn't for the critical moment when Saul took out the scroll of Spirit Armor Art, he would have definitely been injured in the attack just now.

Ferguson's electric current was a weakness in Saul's sorcery system that had not been conquered so far. It was fortunate that he hadn't remodeled his spirit ester yet, or else his arm would have melted away again in today's fight.

"As long as you don't move." Seeing that Saul was trapped in the Spirit Armor Technique, Ferguson also calmed down.

With that said he carefully weaved his way through the corpses, trying to go to the corner and pick up the candle. Electricity still flickered around his body in case he fell into another hallucination.

So much of the arc of electricity was concentrated in his lower body that the muscles in his face had to twitch with every step he took.

It hurt to watch.

But instead, Ferguson sped up his steps in the midst of such pain, and his gaze toward the candles at the feet of the corpses became more and more frenzied.

He knew clearly that the candle in the second storehouse was something very important, but he didn't know that this candle could even summon the corpses in the storehouse.

This candle he didn't want to hand over to Kukin!

Utilized properly, it might be able to turn him over completely!

Now that he had also found out, the corpses had only been chasing the candle afterward, except for the moment when they first appeared and attacked his consciousness.

So Ferguson stopped wasting his energy attacking the corpses and just tried to carefully carve a passage out.

He tried to utilize the mage's hand to take out the candle directly, but the mage's hand that he had just summoned was gradually absorbed by the corpses as it passed through their bodies, and by the time he came to the candle, there was only one finger left.

As Ferguson carefully approached the candle, the Spirit Armor Technique on Saul's body also reached the time to dissipate.

Instead of trying to approach the candle like Ferguson, he walked back to the edge of the bronze gate.

Seeing that Saul took the initiative to retreat to the distance, Ferguson, who had been keeping an eye on his movements with his afterglow, laughed coldly in his heart, "I count on you to know what's good for you! This asshole kid caused me to make such a big fool of myself that the locator was forced to be activated. When I get the candle back, I'll definitely give him a hard time! See if he still dares to play tricks!"

At this moment, Ferguson completely forgot that it was clearly him who had to light the candle here.

Seeing that there were only two rows of corpses separating Ferguson and the candle, suddenly, a finger-thick black tentacle bypassed all the corpses, quickly drilled into the innermost part from the gaps of the limbs, rolled up the candle and ran away!

Ferguson was shocked, "Tentacle of the Soul Eater's Claw?!"

He wasn't afraid of the tentacle, but it was very sensitive, with a slender body, and immediately retreated back down the gap after getting the candle, and also took the corpses away from their original position.

The candle that was just in front of his eyes flew away in the blink of an eye!

Ferguson turned his head to see that the other end of the tentacle was actually attached to Sol!

"I knew it was you who were doing the trick!"

He really wanted to electrocute Sol into coal!

But seeing that the candle was a bit closer to him, Ferguson instantly decided that it would be better to grab it back first.

At this moment, he didn't care if he would fall into another hallucination, he directly went up to his hand, plucked away the corpse, and like his feet were fitted with springs, his whole body leapt up high.

But just as he jumped up, another black tentacle drilled out from the ground cockily tugged at his feet, immediately causing him to lose his balance.

The latter immediately swung his whip, and the electric whip and the tentacle directly melted the tentacle off just as it had been disarmed.

But also because of such a small block, Ferguson did not leap out far, and could only watch as the black tentacle thief ran back to Sol with the red candle.

Saul stretched out his hand and took the candle.

After so many tosses, the candle flame was still bright.

Raising his eyes again, Ferguson had just landed three meters away, behind several bodies.

He looked grimly at Saul, "Give me the candle."

Saul pressed one hand on the metal door behind him and said with a grave expression, "Senior, this candle doesn't seem as ordinary as you say. Giving it to you just like this could cause a lot of trouble afterward. This deal ... I need to reconsider."

"You went back on your word!" Ferguson angrily slammed the whip.

Saul smiled instead, "It's the senior who's hiding something, isn't it?"

Ferguson pursed his lips, his fingers squeezing and clicking.

Saul hadn't expected to lure the corpses out after lighting the high-fashion candles outside the warehouse.

Things were beyond Saul's control, and he could only regretfully terminate this transaction.

If this thing fell outside and was controlled by someone with a heart, even Saul wasn't sure what harm it could cause.

The most important thing is that if something goes wrong with the corpses, Saul will not be able to escape accountability.

This had already gone against Saul's original intention of eating the candy coating.

It was almost as if he had received one piece of candy and returned ten pieces of candy back to the people.

It was completely a lose-lose deal!

The third installment will be in the evening.
