Chapter 70 – Pink Da and Another Second Order
Korie, who was originally standing right behind Sol, reached out lightning fast and twisted Sol's back.
"Hiss ..."
It was the sound of a soft huff of air from the tips of teeth.
Saul knew that Kori was reminding herself to be careful with her answer.
If he said it lightly, it might be taken as modesty by the other party and forcefully pulled into the club; if he said it heavily, he might offend Rokai, who had invited him in front of the crowd.
In an instant, three or four reasons for refusal flashed through Saul's mind.
Under the diary's "years and years" of training, he immediately chose the most appropriate one.
Just as Saul was about to open his mouth, he heard a low, hoarse voice ringing out from behind the crowd.
"Disperse after the test, what are you doing here? Nothing to do?"
The crowd hurriedly turned around to look, and it was actually Instructor Katz.
Didn't they say that the mentors had something to do?
The corner of Rokai's eye twitched.
Kaz gazed past the crowd of white mushrooms and said to Saul, who was standing in the center, "Saul, you come with me."
"Yes, Mentor!" Saul's voice was loud and clear, and when he passed by Rokai, he reported with an apologetic smile before leaving with quick steps.
The two walked forward and backward to the tenth floor ramp, where Kaz turned and led Saul onward.
They kept going, and going, and going, until they passed the fifteenth floor and came to the sixteenth.
Saul's eyelids fluttered.
The sixteenth and seventeenth floors were the residences of the mentors!
Saul usually only went to the fifteenth floor, which was Kaz's lab.
"Teacher, where are we going?" There was some speculation in Saul's mind, could it be that Mentor Kaz knew that he passed the test as the first place and was going to take him to meet Pink Da?
"To meet a mentor. You shouldn't have seen it before, it's Mentor Rum who majors in water and light."
What?
Sol's heart immediately stopped beating again.
It was said that when you hit the young, you come to the old.
Saul had just learned the name of the old one, and the other party came so quickly?
"Mentor, what are we meeting Mentor Rum for?" Sol asked carefully.
"What do you think?" Kaz didn't return his head.
Saul looked to the pale back of Mentor Kaz.
Could it be that Mentor Kaz took the initiative to help him make peace? So that Tutor Rum would not retaliate afterward?
Or was it Pink Da behind the scenes?
So when Pink Da said "you're already strong enough", did he mean "let go, I'll take care of it"?
So pondering, Saul's heart began to flutter again, a not belonging to his grandeur arose.
Turning a corner on the ramp, Saul was about to follow Kaz into the sixteenth floor.
That's when two people suddenly came down from the previous floor.
Kaz and Saul then stopped at the fork in the road.
At the head of the group, was an English woman with short shoulder length blonde hair, with a face that looked to be in her late twenties and less than thirty.
She wore a suit of half-armor painted with interlocking gold and white patterns, a palace sword hung at her waist, and a pair of boots with metal toes.
Saul was keenly aware that Kazi, who was beside him, flinched as the woman stepped down.
An old friend? A nemesis?
Before Saul could think much about it, the second person to come down showed his full face.
He wore a brownish-red cloak and a hood with the brim pushed down so low that only a pink chin showed.
The rest of his body was hidden under the cloak, with only the tips of his black shoes poking out a bit as he walked.
Pink chin ...
Saul instantly realized who the second person was!
But his first reaction was to lower his head and get out of the way, even hiding behind Kaz.
Kaz also cooperated by blocking a small portion of Saul's torso.
As the two men passed, Kaz bent deeply in salute.
"Tower Master, Lord Kira."
Those who made a full-fledged sorcerer bow ninety degrees in greeting were at least second level sorcerers, or someone equal in strength to a second level sorcerer.
Sol followed suit and bowed deeply. He originally wanted to wait for the two to walk past before getting up, but who knew that the metal combat boots stopped in front of Kaz.
"After not seeing you for so many years, you haven't improved at all." The woman's voice was unusually hoarse, "Have you really been trying to do something?"
This time, Saul clearly saw Kaz's arm tremble.
Mentor ... was in fear.
Saul, who was standing right next to Kaz but not feeling any pressure, pressed his chin firmly against his collar.
In the quiet passage, Sol heard the tower master behind the woman chuckle, "Kira, you're meddling a bit too much."
At the sound of the voice, it was indeed the Pink Lord!
Saul still maintained his respectful posture, but in his heart, he was thinking, "Pink Da is really the Tower Lord! Will he be able to tell that I'm haunted by a grudge spirit? Will he step in and help me?"
However, Saul controlled himself not to move around, "It's better to listen to the Tower Lord's command first, pretend not to recognize him, if Senior Byron also has no way to dispel the grudging spirit, I will then ..."
Kazi was in awe of the Tower Lord, and Saul was even less qualified to connect the dots on the surface.
But that Kira was clearly different.
She tossed her head and glared back at the tower lord, "I haven't seen you guys make any progress in all these years! Golza, I'm already second-ranked, and when I catch up with you, I'll take her away."
Tower Lord Golza didn't get angry at his words, he directly bypassed Kira and only left a light sentence.
"Wait until you catch up."
Kira snorted coldly and quickly followed, the two figures quickly disappeared behind the bend.
It was then that Kaz got up, his chest heaving quite visibly.
Thor looked sideways in the direction the two had disappeared, slowly straightening his back.
"Mentor, that's the Tower Master, that's the first time I've seen him."
Kaz had calmed down and glanced sideways at Sol meaningfully, "Yes, it's rare for the average person to see the Tower Lord. Come with me."
Saul actually wanted to ask who the woman was, but he didn't think Kaz would tell him.
The two continued deeper into the sixteenth floor.
Halfway there, Kaz suddenly stopped again and looked back to whisper to Saul.
"If you usually meet the Tower Lord, you must remain absolutely respectful. You can't speak or act recklessly just because the Tower Lord is mild-tempered. You must understand that the Tower Lord doesn't lose his temper because he doesn't need to, not because he won't."
"Instructor Katz is warning me!" Sol immediately realized this.
Mentor Kaz really did know about the Powder Great, at least partially.
Pink Da, was the Tower Lord.
It seemed that from now on, Sol would need to address the other tower master.
"I understand, thank you." Sol answered in a low voice.
Kaz was quite satisfied when he saw that Saul's attitude was serious and not perfunctory.
The rooms of the five mentors occupied two of the floors of the Sorcerer's Tower.
Even though the space at the top of the tower would be smaller than the bottom, the rooms were quite large.
As a place where the mentors lived, the corridor on the sixteenth floor didn't have any ornate decorations, and even the distance between the candle lamps and the servants' rooms were exactly the same.
Sol was expecting to see some rare runes and spell formations here, but it was instead clean like his dormitory.
The two continued on their way, and finally Kaz led Sol to a stop in front of a three-meter-wide room door.
The width of this huge room door was close to catching up with the hallway, so it wasn't a sliding door, but a sort of folding door.
Saul pondered in his mind, "The person who needs to install a room door like this must be very large. Could it be that Mentor Rum is a big fat man?"
Besides Kaz and Saul, there were three other people standing in front of the folding door.
They were all blonde, blue-eyed, handsome, and wearing robes of the same color, with the name tag of a Level 2 Apprentice pinned at the same place on their chests.
As Mentor Kaz approached, all three turned left at the same time, faced Kaz, and bowed and saluted at the same angle and at the same speed.
Kaz only nodded.
The three men rose again together and turned back to their original direction together.
Standing together in silence.
Here it comes, here it comes!
