"Help me, help me, help me ... kill me!!!"
"Whew!"
Saul opened his eyes and sat up violently.
"You're awake, my lord?" A boy hurriedly got up from the ground and came over to Saul.
"George?" Saul recognized that the other party was the same boy who slept on his right side.
In that big bunkhouse, only George was still friendly to Saul.
Saul had just crossed over and only had scattered memories of the original owner, and a lot of things about the Wizard's Tower were secretly told to him by George.
Just afraid of being bullied by the other boys by association, George never dared to strike up a conversation with Saul in front of others.
Now, George showed a fawning smile and picked up a bowl of soup.
"My lord, are you hungry? I'll serve you dinner?"
Saul pushed the soup away.
"No, I'm not hungry, what time is it? How long have I been unconscious?"
"You have been unconscious for about an hour, my lord. It is now eight in the morning ... a little after eight." George looked back at the hourglass clock on the wall and barely read the time.
Saul followed George's line of sight and only then noticed that he was in a single bedroom.
A one meter and a half wide wooden bed, two long desks, two high-backed chairs, and an empty bookcase that took up an entire wall were all of the room's large furnishings.
There was also a blue hourglass clock hanging on the wall.
The hourglass clock had a scale on it, and the sand was just a little below the eight o'clock mark at the moment.
"This is the room for ... sorcerer apprentices? I passed the test?" Saul only felt a warm current rise from the bottom of his heart and slowly traveled down his entire body.
Excitement, excitement, and great distress caused him to reveal a goofy smile.
"Heh heh heh heh ..." Watching Saul smile, George hurriedly followed suit, "Congratulations, my lord!"
Saul realized his outburst and hastily collected his expression, coughing lightly twice.
"George, why are you here?"
George hastily fell to his knees, tilted his head and said, "My lord, the steward asked me to take care of you."
It turned out that after Saul passed out, he was sent to an empty room on the sixth floor by the butler and asked George, who had volunteered to take care of him until he came to his senses.
Hearing George's words, Saul fell into deep thought.
"Since I was sent to the Sorcerer's Apprentice's room, it should have recognized my identity. But unsurprisingly, my magical talent is still very low, if I can't find a way to improve it, I'm afraid that I'll only be a first level sorcerer apprentice for the rest of my life."
Because he fainted and escaped the magic power test, but Saul was therefore not sure what his magic talent actually was.
There was still time to find a time to secretly take a test.
The excitement of becoming a sorcerer's apprentice and the worry of the difficult road ahead made Saul's mind torn beyond measure.
After a while, he let out a breath before noticing that George was still kneeling on the ground, eyeing him.
"Uh, George, get up."
"My lord!" George saw Saul return to his senses before he dared to speak, "My lord, please let me be your exclusive servant!"
"Exclusive servant?" Saul had no memories of this.
George carefully glanced at Saul's left hand and hastily retracted his gaze again.
"Yes my lord, I have seen other sorcerer apprentice lords who have appointed servants to serve their rising. My lord take me, I will serve you well."
Seeing some hesitation on Saul's part, George kneels over to the bedside and lowers his voice, "My lord, I can be your eyes and keep an eye on Brown for you."
Brown? The boy who had been bullying himself?
"My lord, I noticed that Brown was sought out twice after you woke up from your injuries. After that he became even more arrogant than he was, and deliberately got everyone to band together to target you by giving you the job of sweeping the corridors in the early hours of the morning, which was originally a rotating role, to just you."
Saul's pupils plummeted.
So, that group of boys weren't just bullying themselves, but someone was instructing them?
His left hand hidden in his sleeve slowly clenched. It's someone who wants me dead!
Seeing this, George knew that his information would be useful to Saul and hurriedly continued, "My lord, I can help you find out who is behind Brown."
Without much hesitation, Saul shook his head and rejected George.
"No, you don't make any moves." Sol paused for a moment and said, "You just need to keep an eye on the daily movements of Brown, but don't take the initiative to track them down. As for the matter of exclusive servants, I will ask the butler when my side is stabilized."
George was slightly disappointed, but quickly pulled himself together as he knelt down and straightened his body, "I understand, my lord! If you have a need, you can summon me at any time, George is willing to give his life for you!"
The boy, who was but twelve years old, was full of loyalty and enthusiasm.
This kind of false words would not be on Saul's mind, he waved his hand to let George get up and asked him again, "Do you know what you have to do after becoming an apprentice?"
This time George shook his head blankly.
It was also true that George was called over later, he couldn't be expected to know everything.
Not wanting George to be too conspicuous, Saul told him to go back first, while he himself wandered around the house to see if he could find some useful information.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice Test, he had fainted after all, and probably missed a lot of information.
The room Saul was in was a single room with a small area, not comparable to Kong Sha's place. Other than the basic necessities, the rest of the place was empty.
Saul found blank scrolls and blotting pens under the long table.
This represented permission to study.
He cradled both in his arms and pursed his lips and began to smile again.
The life of a precarious servant was finally over.
He no longer had to worry daily about what form he would die in.
A better future seemed to be at hand.
He knew that his talent wasn't really up to snuff, and he was lucky to be alive to become a first level apprentice.
"Even if I can't advance, it doesn't matter, I'm willing to stay in rank until I die of old age."
"Knock knock!"
Someone knocked on the door.
Saul straightened his expression and rushed over to open the door.
The person outside the door he had seen before was one of the two people who had tested in front of him.
It was a freckled young girl with twisted braids, a simple blue dress, and a hard cloth shoulder bag on her back.
"I saw your servant leave and figured you were awake, so I came by to say hello." The freckled girl spoke without much expression, her head lolling with her voice, "My name is Kori, I'm staying in room 603 next door to you."
Taking the initiative to come and say hello should be a warm gesture, but again, Korie's expression was a bit too cold.
"Hello, my name is Saul."
Korrie looked at the book and pen in Saul's arms and nodded slightly in general recognition, "I came to see you, for one thing, because you're mentally gifted and I'm magically gifted, and the best of the best should parallel the best of the best."
Thor drawled a little.
"And two, because you were the only one of those later ones who survived the test."
Hearing Korrie's words, Saul's heart sank.
As expected, the servants who failed the test all died.
So if you don't have enough talent, opportunities can turn into calamities.
"I saw your clothes, which are the same as those of the servants in the tower, and presumed that you are all servants who took the test. Since you were able to go from servant to apprentice, your willpower must be good."
Although Korrie was complimenting people, Saul didn't feel happy for some reason.
"The above, is why I came to befriend you."
Sol was tempted to ask, "And why should I befriend you?"
But he held back.
