Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Kneel before your mother and take her blessings

Wishing that her mother could share her joys and sorrows.

Just as Trina was wiping away her tears, Ryan walked back into the room, a look of concern on her face.

"Trina, dear, I'm so sorry to leave you alone for a moment," she said, rushing over to Trina's side.

Trina quickly dried her tears and forced a smile onto her face. "It's okay, Mother," she said, trying to sound cheerful.

"I was just talking to...to my mother."

Ryan's expression softened, and she reached out to put a comforting arm around Trina's shoulders.

"I know, dear," she said. "It's hard to see her like this. But we have to stay strong for her, and for each other."

Trina nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards Ryan for being there for her.

She took a deep breath and tried to compose herself, not wanting to break down in front of Ryan again.

Just as Trina was composing herself, the doctor walked into the room, a serious expression on his face.

"Good afternoon, ladies,"

he said, nodding at Trina and Ryan.

"I'm Dr. Smith, Meble's attending physician."

Ryan stood up, her eyes fixed intently on the doctor. "Doctor, how is Meble doing?" she asked, her voice firm but concerned.

Dr. Smith hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I'm afraid Meble's condition remains unchanged," he said.

"She's still in a coma, and we're doing everything we can to support her and try to bring her out of it."

Trina felt a pang of disappointment and worry. She had been hoping that the doctor would have some good news, that Meble would be waking up soon. But it seemed that wasn't the case.

"What are her chances of recovery?" Ryan asked, her voice firm but laced with concern.

Dr. Smith hesitated again before speaking. "It's difficult to say at this point," he said. "Meble's injuries were severe, and we're doing everything we can to support her.

But I have to be honest with you, the longer she remains in a coma, the less likely it is that she'll make a full recovery."

As the doctor walked out of the room, Romeo walked in, his eyes scanning the space until they landed on Trina and Ryan.

He looked a bit out of place, his suit and tie seeming formal compared to the hospital surroundings.

Trina looked up at him, a mixture of emotions on her face.

She was still reeling from the doctor's update on her mother's condition, and Romeo's arrival was a bit of a distraction.

Romeo's eyes locked onto Trina's, and for a moment, they just stared at each other.

Then, Romeo's gaze shifted to Ryan, and he nodded at her. "Mother," he said, his voice a bit stiff.

Ryan's expression was neutral, but Trina could sense a hint of tension between them. "Romeo, dear," Ryan said, her voice smooth. "I'm glad you could make it. Trina's mother is still in a coma, and we're all very concerned."

Romeo's eyes flicked back to Trina, and for a moment, Trina thought she saw a glimmer of something like compassion in his eyes. But then, his expression hardened again, and he looked away.

Ryan's eyes locked onto Trina and Romeo, and she nodded at them.

"I think it would be a good idea for both of you to kneel before Meble and ask for her blessings ,"

she said, her voice firm but gentle.

"It's a sign of respect, and I think it would mean a lot to her."

" Huh ?" Trina caught off guard.

" What are you waiting for ? Both of you kneel down !" Ryan said to them.

Trina got down on her knees beside Meble's bed, taking her mother's hand in hers.

" Hurry up !" Ryan told Romeo who was still standing.

Romeo hesitated for a moment, looking uncomfortable, but eventually he knelt down beside Trina.

He didn't take Meble's hand, but instead looked at Trina with a mixture of emotions on his face.

Trina took a deep breath and began to speak, her voice soft and gentle. "Mother, I want you to know that I'm married now," she said. "I married Romeo, and we're starting a new life together. Please give us your blessings.."

" Romeo, Say something !" Ryan demanded.

Romeo cleared his throat and added, his voice a bit gruff.

" .. I ..am… I and Trina are married. Please give us your blessings . .."

Trina looked at Romeo, feeling a surge of gratitude towards him.

It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot to her that he was trying to be supportive.

Ryan smiled at that. At least Romeo said something encouraging today.

After they finished speaking with Meble, Trina, Romeo, and Ryan stood up and quietly left the hospital room.

They walked in silence to the parking garage, where Ryan's driver was waiting to take them back to the Walter's mansion.

The ride back to the mansion was quiet and tense, with Romeo staring out the window and Trina lost in her own thoughts.

Ryan sat in the front seat, her eyes fixed on the road ahead.

When they arrived at the mansion, Trina went straight to her room, feeling emotionally drained from the day's events.

Romeo disappeared into his study, closing the door behind him.

Ryan went to the kitchen to check on dinner preparations, leaving the two newlyweds to their own devices.

Later they all gathered for dinner and after Romeo and Trina went to their room.

The routine became all too familiar. Every night, Romeo would sleep on the bed, while Trina would retire to the couch, trying to get some rest despite the discomfort.

Every morning, Trina would wake up early, quietly getting out of bed and heading to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

She would leave it out for Romeo, giving him space to wash up and get ready for work.

They would have breakfast together with Ryan and after

Romeo had left for the office, Trina would shower and get dressed, ready to face the day.

She would spend her days at the restaurant, working hard to make it a success.

In the evenings, Trina would return to the mansion, exhausted but fulfilled. She would spend some time chatting with Ryan and the other maids, unwinding after a long day.

Romeo, on the other hand, would retreat to his study, shutting himself away from the rest of the household.

He would stay there until dinner, and then after eating, he would go to bed, ready to repeat the cycle the next day.

This routine had been going on for eight months now, and Trina had grown accustomed to it.

To the outside world, Trina was the epitome of success and luxury.

As Mrs. Walter, she was the wife of a wealthy and handsome man, Romeo, and the owner of a high-end restaurant in the prestigious Walter's Hotels.

Many women admired and envied her, coveting her title, her wealth, her expensive cars, bags, clothes , jewelry and shoes and her seemingly perfect marriage.

They would often whisper to each other about how lucky Trina was to have snagged such a catch as Romeo, and how fabulous it must be to live a life of luxury and ease.

But what they didn't know was the reality behind the façade.

They didn't know about the loveless marriage, the cold and distant husband, and the loneliness that Trina felt despite being surrounded by wealth and opulence.

They didn't know that Trina's days were filled with the stress of running a business, and her nights were spent sleeping on a couch, alone and unloved.

They didn't know that behind the mask of confidence and poise, Trina was hiding a deep sadness and a longing for connection and love.

After Eight months

Trina was supervising the employees in her restaurant when she got a call from the Doctor Smith.

" Your mother is awake !" She got the news
