Synopsis
In a time veiled in mystique and magic, a delicate equilibrium once held sway between humans and witches. These revered beings, healers and sages, epitomized serenity until an ominous shift fractured their harmony. Seduced by forbidden arts, witches succumbed to the allure of dark magic, coveting dominion over humanity. With the shroud of peace lifted, bitter conflict erupted, plunging villages into chaos. Abductions, massacres, and spectral curses became routine, casting a pall of terror over the land. The once-honored title of "witch" now evoked dread and desolation. Corrupted by insatiable hunger for power, witches underwent grotesque metamorphoses, their once-beautiful forms now marred by scales and shadows. Divided by elemental allegiances, they wielded newfound powers with malevolent intent, each element branding them as emissaries of darkness

Chapter 1 - Do Not come back late

On the street of the busy town, the people are going by doing their daily tasks. Kids are running around playing tag, while some are pricing in the nearby market. Houses and carriages are moving.

In a neighborhood, a family seems to be in a sad mood, discussing how they can deal with their situation. An angry mother is yelling at the father of the house in front of the other members of the family.

"I do not care how much Lord Nicholas gives you, that my daughter been sold away! Please, I beg you, bring back my daughter," the woman grabs onto the man's old shirt.

"Dear, calm down. She is just going to work with the Vampires; they won't hurt her," the man tries to calm his wife down.

"Don't freaking tell me to calm down!" The man pulls his wife into a hug.

"Honey, it's hard for me too, but his lord always makes sure to check on the humans on their well-being. The recent reports proved they are okay and are well-fed. Our daughter will be fine, trust me,"

he signals to his eldest son to bring the mother water, which he does, and the man gives his wife the water. The woman drinks a little and puts the cup down to confirm.

"But you have to promise, you have to promise me! Promise me that you will join the Lord next escort to check on my daughter, please!" The man nodded.

On the corner of the room, a little boy around 7 years old sits down watching his parents sobbing. He doesn't know much, but he knows that danger lurks outside their doors and everyone should be home early. He knows about the story of missing children and adults as well. He remembers it around noon, and he should be out to help his older siblings with the woods for the night.

He peeked at his two older brothers, Elliot and Eli; they seem to be in thought too. The little boy decided to speak up to cheer up the family.

"Ma...pa, I believe Lis will be alright." Everyone turns to look at the little boy who doesn't understand how life works.

The father smiled at him. "Yes, Milo, she will be just fine." Milo walked up to hug his parents. "Mama, please be happy. I'll be sad too." Milo's mum smiled at her little boy with the puppy eye and cute dimples.

She hugged him. "I won't be sad anymore," she wiped her tears. "Mama, since you are happy now, you should rest, okay?" The father agreed with his son. "Yes, dear, go get some sleep. I'll go hunt some meat for us." Milo stood up.

"Ma..pa, Elli and Eli and me will go to the woods now." Elliot and Eli went to the other room and came out with their axe.

"We'll leave now," Elliot says, leading his brothers out. "Please do not come back late; be here before sunset. I don't trust those Vampires too with their eyes preying at us like they would devour us at any minute," their mum warned them.

After the boys left, there was a knock on the door. Milo's mum opened the door to face her nosy neighbor still standing there scrutinizing this neighbor of hers.

"What is it, Karen?"

"What, why are you looking at me that way? Let me in, Sarah." She pushed through Sarah and walked to sit on the wooden chair.

Milo's mum closed the door with a grumpy face and walked to sit opposite Karen. Karen couldn't keep it in anymore. With a serious face, she says,

"I heard you sold your daughter to the Vampires." "I mean no offense, but you know those creatures are very dangerous. They are at the top of the food chain! Do you think you would ever see your daughter again? What if she die--"

"Karen!" Sarah stopped her from going forward. "That's enough. This is my family business, not yours, okay?" Karen was taken aback.

"But I'm just concerned for you." "I don't need it!" Sarah yelled. She walked out the back door to go to her little kitchen.

Milo's father also told Karen not to bother that everything is already. As the head of the house, he has to maintain peace with the neighbors, and he knows his wife is not in a good mood because of him.

In the bush, Milo was busy picking out dried sticks from the ground for fire to light up the room and make dinner. Not too far ahead, Elliot and Eli were busy trying to hunt for meat. Elliot is the oldest son; he is 21 and very tall. He has light red curly hair just like his mother and shares the same green eyes. He is a bit toned and has little biceps, making him look like an anime guy. He has a perfect body and abs. He was the heartthrob of their town, but Elliot knows better of what he needs to focus on, and this made his mother and some elders in the town love him. He is a good boy and works hard.

Sometimes Elliot gets into some silly fights and bullying with some other guys in town because of his looks, but he never told his family about his life outside. He believes he has to be responsible and handle his situations. Eli is the third after their sister who's now sold; she is 19, and Eli is 17. He is 5ft tall and has a perfect body too, just like his older brother. He is blessed with green eyes too, but he has black hair just like his father, but his hair is as curly as Elliot's. Only their sister doesn't have curly hair. Eli looks up to his brother, same as Little Milo too.

Milo shares the same red curly hair with Elliot except he has grey eyes like his sister and father. The kids were known for their beauty and sometimes the talk of the town. On their way, people could not help but praise them as they walk in unison to the bushes. On the way, a female stops them. She is just around 18, drops her basket, and runs after Elliot.

"Hey, Elli, wait for me."

Elliot quickens up the pace at which he walks; he was aware of the trouble Mary, the girl, got him into in the last fight he had.

"Elliot, can you just tell her to back away? She is very clingy!" Eli warned his brother.

Elliot was tired of this; the last thing he could do to make Mary leave him alone was for him to beat her up so she can be scared of him, but God forbid he would not raise his hand on a lady.

He was brought back to the present by a soft hand that held his arm. He looks at the direction of the soft hands and only to find Mary smirking at him. He was so mad. 'Seriously, after what happened, she has the guts to touch him,' he thought.

"DO YOU MIND, DON'T TOUCH ME!" His cold eyes darkened at her. Out of little fear, Mary retracted her hands slowly.

"Why are you being grumpy?" She tried to come closer, but Eli stepped in, he glared at her.

"Back off, Mary, we are busy," he warned her. Mary was so pissed; she could tell they were angry from the last fight.

It wasn't her fault guys fought over her; she was too beautiful, and she does not understand why Elliot could not give her attention, not until she had to make a move in front of other guys. And they ended up getting mad and beating up Elliot. She looked into Eli's eyes, who is taller than her; if not for his age, she would go for him. He has this dark aura around him with his dark hair sticking to his forehead, almost covering his green eyes, giving out that sexy dark look of a daredevil. Elliot was just cute and handsome at the same time; he was like sunshine, unlike his brother; they call them Light and Darkness. She got lost in her thoughts.

Eli noticed the look she was giving him and was disgusted.

"Dude, back off. Oh my God, are you attracted to me too?" He pushed her away, making her hit her butt on the ground.

"Ouch! Are you stupid?" Mary yelled.

"Don't you have respect for a lady?" She stood up, pointing at him.

Elliot's deep chuckles could be heard as he placed his arm around his brother's shoulders, both brothers staring down at Mary in a disgusted manner.

"Mary, I thought you had eyes for me. Now you are after Eli too? I know he is irresistible," Elliot joked.

"Arrgh, stop it, brother, ewww, she is older than me; that's child abuse!" Eli spoke up.

Mary got so mad she yelled back, "I swear both of you will pay for THIS!" She walked away, giving them the middle finger.

Eli yelled back, "I am pretty sure you would love that in bed—" Eli could not finish his phrase because Elliot covered his mouth. Eli looked at him and read his face. 'Oooh, little Milo could hear them.' He bent down and scratched the back of his head.

"Milo, you don't know what that means, do you?" Eli asked Milo.

"No, what does it mean?" Milo asked.

"Well, it mea—" "THUND!" Eli fell face flat to the ground.

"Dude!" Elliot kicked his butt; he knows his brother can be stupid sometimes. What was the point of telling him what sex is about, he thought? Elliot pulled Eli up from the ground, and Milo couldn't stop laughing at his mud face. 'He looks like a mud monster,' Milo thought. Eli gave Elliot a stern face, and Elliot felt sorry and began to laugh at his mud face.

"You know, you could have just told me to stop," Eli says to him as he walked off, leaving his two brothers laughing at him. "I'm sorry," Elliot says, laughing at his brother as he walked away.

Later in the bush, it was almost evening. The curfew was at sunset, while the boys had caught three rabbits. Eli was still trying to get the last one as he walked deeper into the forest with Elliot.

"Eli, I think this is enough; we should start heading home now," Elliot was feeling uneasy about this part of the forest, but he was just glad Milo was still on the outskirts of the forest; he is safe.

"Elliot, just one more, and we would not have to hunt for tomorrow," Eli says to his brother.

"I know, Eli, but you know about the situation in our village. Besides, those Vampires would stop at nothing to charge the family that breaks the rules. I feel like they hate us," Elliot whispered.

Not too far away, they spotted a rabbit, and they stayed low for the rabbit to come out in the open so they could take it down. They heard sticks break from another direction.

Elliot gave Eli the quiet sign as they heard murmuring and spotted two figures in black cloaks. Eli, stupid as he was, whispered,

"Do you think it's what I think they are?" Elliot placed his hand over Eli's mouth; now he was worried about Milo watching the rabbits they caught. He prayed his brother was safe. It was getting late, but they had to stay low like this until these cloak people left.

Milo sat down, waiting for his brothers. It was already sunset, and he was worried. He was panicking because it was the curfew period; they would get into trouble. A lot of Vampire trouble, and they would have to add to another episode of the Vampire diaries.

But Milo was worried about the trouble; now he is worried about his brothers to be safe. He was so scared to look for them. He knows well not to call their names in the forest. He picked up a stick and started walking deeper into the forest to save his brothers. He was determined to get over his fears.

'Please God, help me and my brothers,' Milo kept repeating this in his mind as he looked left and right and looked back again just to make sure nothing was following him.

In the next seconds, he heard a sound in the bushes. He ran to hide behind a tree and squatted in the bush. Thank God he is so small. He heard the rustle in the bushes ahead of him.

'Please do not be a wild animal or a Witch or Vampire,' Milo closed his eyes, praying, as the sound got closer.

In the next seconds, a squeak was heard, and total silence. Milo felt his heart leap out of his chest as he felt the air surrounding him pulled him into an embrace. He felt his legs not touching the ground. He decided to open his eyes, but to his horror, he was up in the sky and next on a tall tree. He wanted to scream but felt a hand covering his mouth. He felt the breath of the creature holding him and close to his ear; he heard a beautiful calm whisper,

"don't make a sound, okay?" The voice warned him. Milo was tearing up already; he was gone for good. His poor mum would be worried by now; he should have waited. Just after that, some people in cloaks were walking below them. Absent of the creature up on the tree, they seemed to be whispering something like a strange language. One of them brought out a black stone and gave it to the other. Milo could see the hands weren't normal; they were black with long bony fingers.

'What are these people?' Milo thought to himself. 'Are these witches?'

After the creature in cloaks were done with their strange acts, they left. Milo's heavy breathing could be heard, waiting for whoever it is up on the tree with him would take his life away.

After what seemed like 10 minutes, the creatures jumped down from the tree with Milo not making a sound. 'Oh my God, I am dead. I need to go find my brothers,' Milo was set free just as he turned to look at the creature; he could not look away as he was facing a pair of pixel eyes with white long hair and dark skin. Milo was stunned.

" I just met a mythical creature"…
