Chapter 36 - Chapter 35: The snowy land (4)

I extended my leg, aiming at his shoulder. Then, before he had the time to react, I threw myself on the ground, rolling on the side and appearing behind him.

Then, kicking forward, I aimed at his ankles in a swift and hard move.

'An eye for an eye.'

As my next blow was about to land, he extended his arms - grabbing my feet in midair. Then, using all his force, he pulled me above his head.

I fell horizontally on the snow, my back hitting the hard ground.

My feet hurt like crazy. I vomited a mouthful of blood.

That was it. The price of using that spell carelessly.

Standing up in a quick motion, putting force on my hands to prop me up, I was in an attack position again. My hands reached for my blade, and my body slightly bent.

« You didn't answer, what are you? »

Asking his species, even though I already had my guess, while running forward, I tried to make conversations.

I needed to talk to ensure my mental stability because while I was still at the peak of my physical strength, my use of magic had tired me out.

"I think, taking the fact that you practically violated my mind, that you already know."

The man, seemingly unfazed, didn't even throw me a glance as I advanced toward him and aimed at his neck. He raised his hands, blocking my attack with his arms.

I smiled, feeling the blood rushing into my head. I was beginning to feel excited.

'That fucking bloodline is beginning to activate…'

One of the things that made my family special and a useful element of the Gefya empire, despite its misdeeds, was their heir training relying on a spell of blood.

From an early age, the children of the Permeson family were trained in a bloody environment to create a natural sense of disaster-seeking.

When we were subjected to intense and violent pressure, we would transform into monster-seeking blood.

Just like butchers.

And when that happened, we went into destructive mode, practically unstoppable. Which made us the strongest villain family of all time.

Usually, I never reached this stage or stopped before that. But today, I wouldn't have no choice but to do so.

'I hope Sylvester is being entertained elsewhere because I don't think I will be able to stay stoned any longer…'

I sighed through my teeth before biting my upper lips in a bloody sight.

Then I dislocated my hands to escape his grip, without flinching.

My sword fell on the ground.

"You shouldn't treat your body like that, young girl." Said the man as he looked at the messy sight I made of myself.

He wasn't smiling anymore.

My hair, previously neat and well-put, was now looking like a mess. My clothes were disheveled and dirty.

I looked at him, trying to find where I could strike - finding an opening.

"That's rich coming from the man who wants to kill me, no?"

" I never said I wanted to kill you, miss. I was still deciding. Didn't I ask your opinion?"

"Wow. What a kind gesture —"

I threw a heel palm, subsequently turning and distancing myself, before I continued my sentence, " Then how about I kill you?"

I landed another kick before kicking again and again. At his lower body: aiming at his feet and tight before flicking him under his feet.

He fell, his head first.

Before he could retaliate or stand up, I sat on him—blocking him in that position—and punched him with my bare hands.

As my fist continued to drop, my hands became more and more bloodied with a mix of his and mine.

The man continued to look at me, not trying to stop me, while he lay on the icy ground.

"You are quite violent for a human. Why are you so angry?"

'The fuck—'

Maybe the man didn't feel physical pain, as he didn't seem to even flinch at my punches.

And it couldn't be because they were too weak. Firstly, he bled like a pig, and secondly, because at this point, it was renowned that my punches were strong enough to send a man to heaven.

"You, tell me, what are you exactly? It's making me crazy!"

I continued to punch him, harder and harder each time, as I asked him the same question again—like a broken doll.

"I am what you think I am. A demon. Moreover, a strong one."

He stopped my movements, throwing me backward in a violent kick.

I landed a few meters away, my back hitting another tree.

'He likes to throw me around, this fucker.'

I stumbled a bit as I repositioned myself on my feet, ready to go again.

'I think this time I won't have any choice but to use magic.'

"Let's do that. We will stop this for today, miss. The snowstorm has ended."

Hearing what the man said, I only noticed that the hard wind had stopped and the huge pile of snow had stopped piling up.

There were no snowflakes anymore, and the forest began to take life again.

Around me, I could hear the chirping of the birds and the howls of wolves.

"I will come to find you again, our fight hasn't ended. "

Then before I could say anything, he disappeared into a myriad of snow.

Where he stood previously, remained a green ground full of flowers and grass.

"The hell!? What kind of demon is he? A fairy demon?"

Not knowing what to do else, I collapsed on the ground, exhausted.

My body felt like I just went into a marathon, full of sweat.

Slowly breathing in and out, I let myself take a small rest before searching for Sylvester.

"Ah, what a shitty life."

After a few minutes of searching, I finally found him, fighting against a high-level beast.

He, too, seemed to have his hands full of something.

He wasn't in bad shape though, obviously having the upper hand. I wouldn't need to come save him.

The man had probably, while venturing to the right side of the hut, fallen into the territory of the magic beast without permission.

That must have angered this one, leading us to that situation.

Having no particular thing to do, I hopped into the first tree I found and sat there - observing their fight.

Sylvester, using his sword infused with aura, was aiming at the beast, in its animal shape—a fox with nine tails— at different angles and spots.

The poor beast, as time passed, found himself in a more and more difficult position. He was growling as he tried to strike Sylvester, using his teeth and paws.

"You are okay, Georgia?"

Having felt my presence, Sylvester inquired about me while not diverting his attention from the ongoing fight.

He was still cutting the beast from side to side while he was full of bite marks, bloody from head to toe.

'Another one who does not seem to feel pain…'

What kind of training that child must have been doing to become like that?

"I am alright. And you? Do you need help?"

"Do not worry, stay there."

Then, in a flying motion, he appeared just before the beast —face to face. He stroked at the side, his blade touching the beast's back.

Blood poured down from the injury, wetting the white carpet of the snow.

The beast was suffering under its attack but didn't stop, standing on his ground.

He seemed like he was more ready to die than let his territory fall into other's hands.

'His behavior is a little weird…'

Understanding what was happening, I stood up —shocked.

Before Sylvester could strike again and finish him, I shouted for him to stop.

"Sylvester wait! I think that beast is only protecting its cub!"

"What!?"

"Yes, it's a female fox, and you threatened its cub's safety. It won't stop until she dies, or you go away."

While I wasn't the most kind person on earth, I wasn't cruel either. I only killed those who threatened my life or could become a potential danger.

Other than that, when I killed, it was because I was obligated to by my family.

Most of the time, I was the saver and not the killer.

If all that the female fox wanted was to protect its child, I wouldn't mind letting her in peace.

Moreover, it was Sylvester's fault. He was the one who acted recklessly.

And I didn't want to make those poor cubs orphans. I knew how it felt to lose a mother.

"Let's go. The snowstorm has ended, and we still have tomorrow left. It will be morning soon."
