Chapter 21 - Chapter 20: Fighting (2)

Directly using her feasts, she punched the beast in the stomach. As soon as she touched him, we could hear a big boom, indicating the huge impact of her strength.

As she continued to fight, she was smiling with her usual sweet smile, but this time there was something more sinister within her eyes. She was hungry for something.

'So bad-ass!'

Then she threw another punch towards his ribs before jumping into a flip back into the sky and landing straight on his back. She gripped his back fur as hard as she could to not fall, while on the other hand, she continued to punch him in every open space.

She wouldn't let him go.

And Ela was still concentrating on aiming at particular dangerous vitals to make him move around—to tire him.

Kiki, him, didn't stop anytime to protect Ela and, more particularly, Mitia, ensuring that she wouldn't be hurt too badly by the white tiger's scratches.

By the way, this one has accumulated a certain number of wounds since the beginning of their fights. But she didn't seem to particularly care, even going as far as laughing like a madman.

The tiger, surrounded by all sides, had no choice but to surrender. As he fought back, his energy became more and more depleted, but he still hadn't won.

As for the other side, they were still struggling quite a lot, but they already had some progress.

Danny, at the front, had multiple deep wounds inflected by the serpent's tail and seemed to be at the end of his strength. Nonetheless, he still continued to launch attacks, not stopping anytime.

Vincent, behind him, protected him at the best of his power, avoiding him instant death by poisoning. But it was still quite hard for him, as he didn't specialize in healing prowess. That was more of Ela's jurisdiction.

But because of a lack of choice and manpower, they had to do with.

Meo was in any better shape; his clothes ripped from part to part.

If the other group hurried a little more, they would receive help soon. But at this rate, they would be in grave danger before that could happen. And the others were tired too; they wouldn't be able to help that much.

Preparing myself to intervene from my position, I cast multiple spells on everyone to help them regain their energy first. Then I extended my protective barrier to make it easier for the other mages, who would soon be depleted of all of their magic.

Just like that, we already had more chances on our side. But since I wasn't a tamer, he couldn't subjugate him directly, as I didn't have any spiritual power.

I could only use attack power, but I was too strong for them. And I didn't really know how to measure my power, which is why I don't use it most of the time.

If I used it on them, I didn't know how much damage it was going to do. And killing them wasn't, in any way, our aim.

Sighing, I thought about what I was going to do to help them.

In all honesty, I couldn't do much; my position prevented me from using my power.

I had no choice but to stand back and ensure they would at least keep their lives. As for the rest, I hoped they would be able to finish the exercise.

'I really don't want to lose more points...'

"Custodire et sana." I chanted out loud,

"Guys, concentrate on attacks and binding; I will take care of the protection and healing."

Using a telepathy spell, I communicated my plan to them.

"Danny, stay at the front and use the rest of your power, focusing only on the middle of his head. It will confuse him and help you take advantage. And from time to time, when he lets go of his guard, he aims at his heart with "damnum" to weaken him. Be careful not to kill him."

"Damnum" was an attack spell mages and tamers all had to learn.

It wasn't fatal, but it could do a lot of damage and was even threatening if one knew to use it the right way.

But Danny, being a senior and having his own experiences, surely knew how to use it correctly.

Danny, having heard my instructions, got back on his feet right away, doing as I said.

"Okay!"

"Meo, try to change your position to one you are more comfortable with. Lower your hand and aim at his tails only with a low damaging attack, and simultaneously try to create another bind. It's better if you concentrate the rest of your energy on subjugating him. Don't lose concentration."

"O-okay. Got it!"

"Vincent, you can disable your barrier; I cast one on everyone. Use your power to prompt up Meo; we will need help. As soon as you see a gap, immobilize him on the ground. You can do it!"

"Okay guys, Mitia and Ela continue this way. You too, Kiki; keep up. Just, Mitia, try to be less violent; we need him in good shape."

"Sure~~~"

Following my directions, they continued fighting against the beasts with more ease.

As for me, I continued to overlook them, assuring that they were still able to continue.

From time to time, I transferred them a little bit of my magic—not too much so as not to be detected. I didn't want them to know I could do that.

Soon, the fight was over. The beasts lost, and we won.

But appearance-wise, it didn't look like that. They were hurt all over; not a single ounce of strength or power was left.

I jumped from where I stood and gave them some healing potions I had on me.

"Here, drink some; it will help you."

"Thanks."

"Thank you, Georgia!"

"Yes, that's right. Thank you for the help!"

Danny said as he hugged me, lifting me up.

He was laughing, a big smile on his face, relieved.

This one was still bleeding all over, but it still had the will to lift me up. Maybe he was a masochist.

"Don't worry, that was my duty. And I was not very helpful to you guys. I am sorry."

"What nonsense are you talking about? You already did a lot. It's not like having you down there would have made a difference, right guys!?" Vincent said, brushing over my apologies.

"He's right, Georgia, thank-k you." Meo continued, stuttering a little. Only this time, he looked at me directly in the eyes, not flinching.

'Looks like he's beginning to get used to me."

"Hey! You let her down. Don't you see you are the door of death!" Kiki yelled at Dan, dissatisfied by his nonchalance.

"Okay!" He replied as he put me down and let me go, not forgetting to ruffle my head beforehand.

"Where should we go now?" intervened Ela, joining the conversation. This one had lost her shy and clumsy attitude since then. She seemed more put-together.

Maybe fighting together made her more comfortable with them, allowing her to be herself?

Or she had a split personality. Otherwise, I couldn't understand her personality changes.

"We should go back; it's almost the end of the imparted time." I said as I looked at the darkening sky, "I will take care of transporting the beasts since I still have enough magic power. You guys should begin to depart; I will be right behind."

"No, that won't do. We can't leave you alone here. I will stay with you; I still have quite a lot of energy too." Said Mitia, rejecting my proposition.

"No, I insist. You are all tired, and it's getting darker. The forest is really dangerous at night. I will not be too far from you; don't worry."

"Mitia is right; it's not okay for us to let you alone. And as you said, it will get more dangerous, so there is more reason." Said Danny.

"Yeah, he's right." Said the others.

Sighing, I didn't know what to do.

I had to make them depart, not only because it would get more dangerous but also because I had to search for something.

And if I postponed it, I didn't know when I would have another chance to come here.
