Chapter 4 - chapter 4: New friends (corrected)

Extracting myself from my reveries, I finally turned my face toward the boy next to me. And then…. I saw him—Mainu!

Taken aback, I stripped and fell butt first to the ground. Fortunately, surely because it was only a dream, I did not fell anything.

Or maybe it would have been better if I had been in pain to wake me up from this nightmare.

" You, you, you…what are you doing here?"I stuttered, unsure of what to say or do.

"Do you know me?"He asked back, confused. I

The man, still as gorgeous as four years ago, seemed to have grown up. Now, at sixteen, he was more mature and even more attractive. Even though the boy was still too young for me to be in awe of his handsomeness, I could not deny that he was beyond stunning. He was exactly what you would call a lady killer…or here more precisely, a man killer -in the sensual connotation of it.

-Am I tripping??

"NO! …I mean…no …I don't know you."

"…"

"…"

"I am sorry; I must have mistaken you for someone else." I said, finally calming myself.

Even if I was still quite shocked, the first turbulent emotions had already gone by. I was now in my most normal state.

Adapting myself to the situation, I adorned my most innocent and lost look.

"I was…I mean, I was sleeping in my room when I got here. At first, I thought it was a dream but... here you are?"

I didn't lie about the reason for my sudden apparition. Maybe they would help me understand why I was here. And above all, why are THEY here??

"You are indeed in a dream," began the blue-haired boy, finally speaking. His deep voice seemed to contain some type of chill in it, making me internally shiver. "And more precisely, my dream."

" Yours? How come?" Turning my head to point towards Mainu, I asked, "And so, what is he doing here?"

"Well, it is a 'transfer'; if you are a mage, which would indicate your presence here, you should probably know of it." Mainu answered my question instead.

- A transfer?

Even though I had a somehow good grasp of magic, I still didn't have that much knowledge about the theoretical part of some phenomena, since I did not have the resources to learn.

Most of the books on magical phenomena weren't accessible to the larger crowd. The only way to learn was by attending an Academy.

The magic I learned was mostly about direct use and directives.

"No, I don't know what a transfer is. I am a new student." I truthfully said. There was no point in lying, as they would soon find out. I had four years to go by their side since we were in the same promotion.

"Hmm…to explain it briefly, it is a common place in a dream where people meets to...discuss..." He answered, his facial expressions twitching.

Don't tell me that's what I am thinking about!?

"But it is a little strange that a mage, what I assume you are, wouldn't know that. And how old are you?" Inquired the blue haired boy.

"Fourteen this year…but I will directly admit the class of seniors."

"So you will be in the same class as me…"

"You are a mage?"

"Yes. You should probably stand up." The blue haired boy said, offering his help.

"Huh? …Ah! Yes…" I uttered, flushed. Standing up with the help of the handsome man, I found myself particularly stupid at that moment.

"Thanks Mister?"

"My name is Daniel. Daniel Berdoro… And my friend here is called Mainu. Mainu Frederic DuPont. We are both sixteen years old and students in the senior's class. And you are, miss?"

"My pleasure! I am Georgia Premeson. Well I am sorry I interrupted your …"rendezvous" I did not know that it was a consented act…"

-Finally I should have better just stayed in the plain, between those statues. At least, I would not have been in a first-class seat to witness the spicy scenes of the BL novel.

What a bummer!

Getting red from what I think would be shame and anger, the face of Mainu contorted ridiculously. "It's absolutely not what you think!" He said, threatening with his voice to skin us alive if we dared to continue our little machinery.

"…" Not knowing what else to say, I internally wished to escape this embarrassing moment.

And by some divine blessing, the next moment-before I could anticipate it- I was evaporating little by little. God seemed to have taken pity on me.

The boys, as if it were a normal thing, weren't in any way shocked.

As I was literally dissolving in myriads of yellow light, I took a last picture of what would become my hell in the next four years. I just hoped that some way they would forget me and erase me from memories...

...…

Quickly standing up from my bed, I frantically checked my surroundings.

-Thanks God, I came back… who would have thought that I would meet you so soon, Mainu …

I pushed myself to go to the stadium (or at least this is what would resemble the closest to it), as it would soon be time for the entrance ceremony.

From what I have heard, just like every year, the director and referees will give a speech before heading us towards our designated factions, separated by buildings between Mage, Knighthood, Alchemist, scholars (or bureaucratic faction), and tamers.

This country, the Gefya nation, was one of the few countries where many different professions could be found, as it had a large amount of talented individuals. Besides, it was considered to have the highest percentage of magic users. In addition, because of the vast number of spiritual and divine beasts and mythical creatures, a new profession has emerged after the application of the decree issued by the founding queen, Amaya Tatiereton: tamers.

This one profession is one of the most well-paid on the continent, as it has the lowest number of people who have mastered it. Although it was incredibly useful in war or even common life, not many could become tamers since it requires spiritual sense-something that humans rarely possess.

I myself did not possess an ounce of spiritual sense.

-We couldn't have everything.

Shortly after navigating between the complex buildings, I soon found my way to the stadium. There, I could see the majority of students already seated, awaiting the beginning of the speech. I quickly found myself a place to sit before looking around. Next to me, on my left, was a beautiful jade type of beauty. I did not notice her at first, but she was really pretty. And it did seem that I was not the only one thinking that if we took notice of the indiscreet gazes thrown at her.

And to my next side, on my right, was a dark-skinned man. He had long, beautiful locks and round glasses perched on his nose.

Looking ahead, in the first row, I could see the backs of Mainu and Daniel. They were talking with two other boys: a blond-haired and black-haired one.

"Don't look at them too much, or you will attract the wrath of their fan club," told me laughingly, the jade beauty, striking a conversation.

"Because they have a fan club?" I asked, smiling.

"Well, not officially, but there are still a lot that think that they are their common property. And if they don't like you, sometimes they can go too far." She answered truthfully, her tone quite somber. It looked like she talked from experience.

- Beauty can really make cities fall. I sighed inward.

"Thank you for the advice. I was not prepared to go to war yet." I joked.

"Sure, you're welcome! I'm Dayana Monteli and you?"

"Enchanted Dayana! I'm Gorgia Premeson. You can call me Gege!"

" Permeson? Like the notorious Permeson family…?"

"Hahaha….yes, that family." I answered, unsure of how to react.

Even though we were a villain family, I did not know that we were so well known that the first thing people would catch about me would be my alliance to it.

"Wow, I would have never guessed! I thought you were all supposed to be villainous, threatening indiv-" She began before quickly stopping herself, visibly regretting her slip of tongue.

The girl, contrary to her appearance, seemed to be quite the muddled one

"No, I didn't mean that…well yes but not like that. I am so sorry!" She rapidly interjected. She seemed to genuinely not mean it in a vile way.

"That's okay. I do quite share your view…my siblings can be really intimidating sometimes." I said like a good girl. In public, I would never denigrate them openly, as it would only lead me to bigger problems.

I was not stupid; spitting on my family name—no matter how true it was—would only put shame on my reputation.

In the world of nobles, the innocence of a child for his parent's crimes did not really exist. You were first of all what your family showed.

"Still, I am deeply sorry. Maybe I could invite you to some tea sometime to apologize appropriately?"

-This girl is really an airhead…why would you invite to tea someone you would have thought badly of? And at that, I just met.

"I appreciate the offer, Dayana. As soon as I am available, I will let you know so we can schedule an appointment." I replied back, still maintaining my smile.

Soon, the director, or more appropriately, the principal of the academy, gave his speech. There was nothing particular about it. It was like any welcome speech: Work hard, make friends, and always uphold the academy's honor. It was nearly boring.

Like to approve my point, the intriguing dark skinned boy next to me practically dozed off on his seat. I could hear his snoring from where I was.

- He reminds me of Lily, my late best friend. They both have the tendency to sleep during speeches.

I wonder how she is doing? How old would she be now? Is she happy?

Stopping myself from going deeper into my reminiscence and getting sadder, I began to think about a more serious matter.

How was I supposed to act now?

Because evidently, the plan to get out of the picture has failed. The only choices I had were to just live my life according to my wishes, or try to approach the other.

None assured me that my "fate" would change.

- I don't know what to do… is it even worth it? I mean…maybe I was just meant to live normally. Maybe the original Gorgia and I did not share the same horrible fate?

Hearing the clapping sounds, I knew it was time to go. As I lifted my head to look upfront, I met a pair of mesmerizing light blue eyes…
