"Hah hah hah! Everyone ready for our next song?" Ai shouted into the microphone, gasping for breath. It was their last song of the night, and she was determined to make it count.
Her eyes swept over her team. Everyone was exhausted but beaming with happiness. Despite their fatigue, they were all determined to end the night with a bang. Taking a deep breath, Ai glanced at them, and they nodded in unison. The music began, and they started singing.
Song- heavenly blue
"This is how legends are born..."
Ai's voice carried through the air, softer at first, then building up. The group moved in perfect harmony, their bodies flowing with the music as if they were extensions of the melody itself.
The lyrics were haunting, and the atmosphere shifted.
"It's nothing more than a bouquet of lies, ink burning darker than black..."
The audience was initially taken aback. The contrast between this song and their previous upbeat numbers was startling. Whispers spread across the crowd like wildfire.
"The hell?"
"This is... something else."
"Are they for real? This song hits different!"
But as the song continued, something shifted. The crowd, while confused at first, began to quiet down, listening intently to the raw, piercing lyrics.
"Forever reaching for something that doesn't exist..."
Ai's voice soared above the instruments, raw with emotion. The choreography was powerful—sharp, deliberate movements that reflected the intensity of the song. Kyon and the others followed her lead, moving as one unified force.
Ado, who had been sitting silently, watching Ai's performance, finally spoke up. "Say, boy... or should I call you Shijo?" She didn't even bother turning her head as she asked. Her voice was casual, but her question wasn't." Did you write this song too."
Aki, who had been closing his eyes, enjoying the music, startled when he heard her speak. "Ah, yes, Shijo is fine. Simple and fine. And I can call you Ado, right?"
"Yeah, I don't mind," she said, waving a hand dismissively. "Not like it's my real name anyway. My fans know me as Ado, so you can too. But hey—what about my question? Did you write this song, or... steal it from some poor songwriter?"
Aki chuckled nervously, his mind racing. 'is she suspecting me?' He thought back to where he'd really gotten the song. 'Technically, I did steal it... but it was from another dimension. So, it doesn't count as copyright infringement... right?'
Ado raised an eyebrow, waiting for an answer. "Well?"
Aki cleared his throat. "Eh... is Sis Ado... doubting me? You think I bought these songs from someone else?" He scratched the back of his head, looking genuinely bewildered. "I promise I didn't... buy them."
"Hmm, a little bit, yeah." Ado replied bluntly, without a hint of hesitation.
"W-What?!" Aki's jaw nearly dropped. 'How can she see be so blunt?!' He ruffled his hair, muttering under his breath. "On what angle do I look like the type of person who'd... Suck from someone else hard work?"
"Your face," Ado quipped, with a deadpan expression on her face.
Aki's eyes widened in shock, and Yuki, who had been quietly observing, almost burst out laughing. Even the other in the room, glanced over for a second, sensing the tension.
A vein throbbed on Aki's forehead. He had never met anyone who could roast him so effortlessly. "You... you maniac...!"
Yuki, now grinning, whispered, "Looks like you've met your match, bro. Better watch out, or you'll lose this sarcasm battle."
Aki threw his hands up in exasperation. "Feel sorry for my past self, thinking I'd found my soulmate! I thought she was soft inside, despite the savage exterior. Damn, they always say, 'don't judge a book by its cover,' but that's the worst advice ever!" He sighed dramatically, "Never trusting those phrases again!"
Ado, still watching the performance, flicked a glance at Aki. "Oi, you listening?"
"Huh?"
"You completely zoned out." 'Did I overdo it?' she thought, genuinely curious. 'I only said one or two things. How can this kid be so emotional... Perhaps mentally unstable?'
Aki groaned. "No, no... it's fine," he muttered, regaining composure. "Anyway... to answer your earlier question—I did create the song. But it's Ai and her team who perfected it."
"Oh? Is that so?" Ado nodded, satisfied, then promptly turned back to the performance, as if Aki was no longer relevant.
Meanwhile, Ai and her group were hitting the climax of the song. The crowd had gone silent, mesmerized by their intensity.
"But it is a curse you will live with, a curse you will die with. "
"Forever reaching for them that doesn't exist."
Their choreography shifted; Ai led the group through a series of graceful spins, followed by the others. The blue lights on stage flickered and shimmered like raindrops, adding to the ethereal feeling of the performance.
"Nonetheless this godforsaken path that you walk,"
"It is a curse itself , an inescapable crime "
"But it is a buty I will guard until the end of the time."
"Rain melts down from the stars, falling from azure skies."
"All at once turning this world every hue into blue."
"Granting a simple choice: stay muted or raise your voice."
The crowd was completely absorbed.
"I swear, this song... it's like a whole other level."
"Are they even real?!"
"This is insane!"
The audience murmured, unable to tear their eyes away.
Ai and her group took one last deep breath together, their final note ringing out, the music fading as they struck a powerful pose, hands raised, as if grasping for the sky. The stage lights dimmed, leaving a soft blue hue that bathed them in a surreal glow.
The crowd erupted in applause. Cheers and whistles filled the venue.
Back in the corner, Ado gave a small smile, impressed by the performance. "Not bad, Shijo. Not bad at all."
Aki smirked, trying to act cool. "Told you. They're the best."
Yuki elbowed Aki. "Yeah, like you ever mention them in the first place. Admit it, bro, you almost lost to Ado's nee roast there."
Aki groaned. "Don't remind me."
Ado just snickered, folding her arms." You also lie quite well hah... "
Aki muttered under his breath, "I'm doomed..."
The night ended on a high note, with Ai and her team walking off the stage, drenched in sweat but smiling triumphantly, knowing they had delivered something unforgettable.
This version fleshes out the characters and their dynamics, adding more humor and personality, while giving the performance a dramatic, detailed touch. The audience's reaction also helps emphasize the shift in tone between the songs.
