Synopsis
This tale follows the lives of a mother, Davina Glasson, and several children. Although some lives are snuffed early due to bad choices, others start out anew, literally from infancy. The children suffer through multiple trials and tribulations as they begin an unexpected journey to adulthood and the difficulties they meet on the way. They also explore what exactly the term suburban conjures in the minds of adults and adolescents alike as they begin forging their paths and careers ahead of them in their home continent, Barat, and the Republic of Shantu. Within this ever-changing pattern of landscapes shifting with the unpredictable tides, and earthquakes, a young group of siblings make their way into adulthood and find all kinds of adventures lying in wait for them. The first individual whose short tale will unfold is the mother, Davina Glasson, who gives an opening notion of what is in store for the children.

Chapter 1 - Dedication & Introduction

Dedication

This goes out to people who understand that living circumstances have to consider unexpected variables that pop up out of nowhere. Anything can happen and therefore most folks try planning for the future. Look for the resources that're lurking in the most unexpected places. That can shift lives and health to a better place.

Introduction

There are countless worlds of cultivation, isekaied, and dominion of feral monsters designed to decimate the human population. However, what if there was another type of planet where that wasn't the case? Such is the status of one such planetary system of fifteen planets.

Existing in that universe is the planet Grimoire, in which there are ten mega continents and five large continents. Not to mention countless other smaller uninhabitable continents due to lack of access to such necessities of potable water, differentiation of resources, and utter lack of sustainability when it comes to any lifeforms whatsoever.

What connects all of them? Over a thousand islands and peninsulas that link all the continents in an ever-shifting chain that continuously breaks from the mainland and then reconnects through massive earthquakes, floods, or devastating storms forthcoming throughout the year.

There are more than just humans that live on this planet. Multiple dimensions coexist relatively peacefully as well through interconnecting portals in various cities, kingdoms, and empires. It is the portals that form the main mode of transportation between various continents that allow for commerce and safe travel when the storms are creating havoc on the seas.

Therefore, it is not really known how many other populations of creatures or humans reside in pockets of republics or simply live in wilderness and trade only when necessity forces the individuals out of their comfort zone.

The main focus will be on Barat, the smallest of the ten mega continents. It has a flourishing republic that is still unnoticed by larger empires and kingdoms that rule the majority of land on Barat. However, the Republic of Shantu which is concealed within one of the densest pockets of forest covering Barat, has a total of ten states within it, and Percival being the largest by far, has a fair number of denizens existing within it.
