The chamberlain's job continued to be as harsh on his throat as before. It was only by some miracle, extremely expensive medicine… or the courtesy of the duke's healer on standby that the man could continue announcing the nobles in the usual manner.
The massive doors opened up a little, just wide enough for the relatively petite woman to pass through, and stand atop the elevated entrance before calmly, gracefully moving down the few steps leading to the actual floor of the chamber.
Despite the great honor of holding such an important title, Lady Agatha failed to stop the nobles from chattering for any longer than any of the other nobles. After all, amidst the ranks of a high society gathered in the throne slash dance chamber of the palace, being a sage amounted to nothing more than an honorary title aimed to compensate for the lack of lands she held under it.
