Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Ares, the God of War, and Hera's Plot?

On Mount Olympus, Hera scowled angrily at the burly Achelous standing in front of her.

"I thought the son of the dignified Oceanic God is very capable. He was half-killed by a god who had just been born over ten years and even asked his father to rescue him. It's really amazing."

The sneering tone struck Achelous like a whip on his wounds.

"Hera, don't go too far. I suffered such humiliation because of you." The latter couldn't help roaring.

Hera laughed coldly. "Isn't it because you're incompetent?"

Achelous' forehead burst with blue veins, forcing himself to suppress his anger, and said coldly, "If you think that ridiculing me can solve the problem, then you can continue to laugh with your sharp and mean tongue."

Hera's eyes lifted, the coldness in her body subsided quite a bit, and she sat up and said, "Tell me what you're planning to do."

Achelous said, "I summed up the reason for the failure of the operation because the information you gave is too inaccurate. Apollo's strength has already reached the Upper God, and he can use very terrifying flame magic."

After a pause: "So to solve him, I need more help. Hephaestus is your son. As the god of fire, it shouldn't be a problem to create an artifact that can restrain the fire, right? "

Hera pondered for a moment and nodded slightly.

"Very well, I have gotten the consent of the Father God to be able to mobilize some of the Oceanic Gods to participate in the operation. But to be on the safe side, I also need you to send a powerful deity to help me." Achelous' face was full of stern color.

Hera frowned, "The reason I let you attack is that the ocean is Poseidon's domain, and if the gods of Olympus are allowed to go there, there will be a lot of trouble."

Achelous smiled coldly, "It's true, but recently my sister is going to hold a coming-of-age ceremony for her child, and she has invited many gods from outside. As far as I know, Apollo is also among them."

"The people you will send just need to mix in with the group going to the banquet. No one will suspect. When the banquet is over, and Apollo goes back, they will follow closely behind, and I will ambush him in front so that we can kill him in one fell swoop!"

After listening to his plan, Hera thought for a while, gritted her teeth, and nodded, "Okay, let's follow your plan, but if it still fails this time, you don't have to come to see me again."

"Don't worry; this time, it's the death of the son of Leto!" Achelous' eyes were full of ruthlessness.

...

When he left, Hera called a few nymphs.

First, she took out a letter and handed it to the first nymph, saying to her, "Deliver this letter to Hephaestus."

"I'll follow your will." Nymph took the envelope and went outside.

Hera said to another nymph, "Go to Ares and ask him to see me."

This nymph was a little surprised.

The god of war, Ares, the main god, was the child of the queen of the gods, but he was rude and brutal and had always been disliked by Hera.

Ares was equally disrespectful to his mother.

The two had not communicated much all year round. Why did the god queen take the initiative to go see him today?

The nymph didn't dare to think too much and came to Ares' residence according to the order.

Ares was stunned for a moment and then sneered, "What kind of wind is blowing on her that she actually asked of me."

Although he sneered, he quickly got up and came to Hera.

Ares, the God of war, was naturally tall and burly, with a beard on his face. Hera's eyes were filled with disgust when she saw her son. She despised his rude and repulsive attitude.

When she first gave birth to her first son, Hephaestus, she threw him straight from the sky and broke his leg because she thought he looked too ugly.

Although Ares was much more handsome than Hephaestus, he was still ugly and savage.

"Why is it that Leto, Metis, and their children are so beautiful and elegant, and I only have these two brute-like sons!"

Hera was jealous, but with a kind look on her face, she looked at Ares with a smile.

The latter was lazy, and he leaned on his sword and said, "Mother, do you have something to say? I have to go hunting later."

The loud voice made Hera's palms clench, and she had to hold herself back from speaking, "Do you know about the two children of Leto?"

"Oh, you mean them. Anyway, God Father doesn't give us a few younger brothers and sisters. What's there to care about?" Ares didn't care.

"Stupid!"

Hera couldn't help but curse.

Ares looked cold and immediately topped it off, "Mother, if scolding me is what you called me here for, then I'll leave now."

Hera's eyes froze, "If I say you are stupid, you still don't accept it. Do you know how good Leto's two children are? Their visions at birth are no worse than Athena's."

Hearing the name 'Athena', Ares' face changed.

He gritted his teeth and said, "Don't mention this woman. One day, I will defeat her and make her succumb to me."

He was the god of war, but Athena, the goddess of wisdom, also had a priesthood of war.

Since its birth, Athena's followers had been second only to the god king Zeus among the gods.

Over time, when mortals worshiped the god of war, they all believed that Athena was the real god of war, symbolizing the victory of the war.

Ares, on the other hand, was a symbol of the cruelty and tyranny of war itself.

So they all sacrificed for Athena, but they were unwilling to sacrifice for Ares.

Ares, of course, was not convinced, so he challenged Athena to a duel to determine who was the great god of war.

And then he lost.

He was completely lost in front of the gods.

This shame was a permanent pain in his heart, and when he heard Athena's name, he couldn't help but get angry.

Looking at him, the disgust in Hera's eyes intensified.

She restrained herself and then said, "If we do not get rid of the son of Leto now, later, he will be like Athena, riding on your head. We, mother and son, in Olympus, can never raise our heads."

Ares reacted, "Are you trying to kill him? No, this will anger Father."

He shook his head up at once.

Although he was brutal and disrespectful to his mother, Hera, his father, Zeus was the being he feared the most.

He didn't have the guts to offend Zeus.

"Since I asked you to take action, I naturally arranged everything. Your Father God will never know about this."

Hera said so, and Ares still shook his head.

Just as he was about to get up and leave, Hera finally threw in her trump card, "I will marry Aphrodite to you if you get rid of the Son of Leto."
